Considering the quality of the food and the portion sizes, I found the prices to be reasonable. The portions were generous, making it a good value for those looking to satisfy their fried chicken cravings without breaking the bank.

I typically refrain from posting reviews unless a place a exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. In this case, it is closer to the latter.Store:It took a very long time for this store to open and even after it opened, it didn't have stable ownership/management. Ordering is a pain because you either have to be in store, or use the app/online (which charges a fee). When I called in to order, I was told to use the app.Food:I love fried chicken (in general) as much as everyone else, but this is not Japanese fried chicken. The closest thing to karaage is their nuggets, but isn't quite the same. The normal fried chicken is nothing close to Japanese fried chicken, and is pretty greasy. The sauce is a general sweet chili sauce, not the sauce typical for karaage. What's worse than this are the katsu dishes. I don't expect anything amazing, but I expect the basics to be done right. Of the half a dozen times I've gotten a some kind of katsu, the breading is always falling off, entire chunks of it. The times I've gotten katsu curry, the curry is always watery, and I mean full on water consistency. These are the bare minimum to get right, and I've ordered several times just to make sure I didn't get a one-off bad dish. My food rating is only a 2 because I enjoy Japanese food, and it tends to be rare in this area, especially at this price level.Price:The price is actually very reasonable. Perhaps the only redeeming thing here.Service:I have never dined in, but I've never had an issue with the staff I've come into contact with. Conclusion:When the advertisement for this store came, I was very excited. After months of opening, that excitement died down. After having no good experience with the food, I don't have expectations anymore, so I'm writing this to let people know, lest they get their hopes up. I suspect this place only has a 4.5 rating because people don't know what this Japanese fried chicken and katsu are supposed to be. I pretty much only come here when I crave Japanese food and don't have time, because it's very close to my house. That comes to about once every few months, and each time I hope that it'd be different.

Kariju’s fried chicken is definitely the best fried chicken I ever had! It’s so crunchy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside! The ramen is also outstanding! Definitely give this place a five star review!

I forgot to take pics, but I ordered Donkatsu curry, Gyu Don, Katsu Don, and wings. Fried foods are good, but everything else is not that great. Rice was not Japanese rice (long grains instead of medium grains), and the curry was like liquid instead of creamy texture and tasted like nothing/water. Katsu Don was soooo salty that we could not finish half of it.I recommend only ordering fried chicken or wings or maybe just Katsu stuff without curry or eggs. But I won't be ordering from them anymore.

Fried chicken is good but not convinced it’s karage. $9 for five large pieces. Sweet chili dipping sauce is definitely not Japanese. Pretty wall art and sleek self ordering kiosk. Place was empty. Best part is the plastic ware package which has both fork and chopsticks and tells you that you don’t need a silver folk. Yes, no need for any folks people ?

Hard pass. The red flags were everywhere: arriving at noon during the week to an empty restaurant, 1 person running the register and cooking the food. It didn't bode well and it only gets worse. The chicken does come out crispy, but at the expense of it being dry and VERY tough. It doesn't matter if you got the chicken with the Katsu curry, as a wing or a nugget, the results were all the same as we got one of each. The curry was thin and flavorless. The Shumai came out cold. The gyoza was the best of the meal, nicely cooked, good flavor. We were the only ones here the entire 45 minutes we were here. So many better places in the area, this one isn't worth the visit.

I placed an order to go today for the teriyaki chicken bento box and 4 drumsticks. The bento box came with chicken, side of white rice, and fries. It was good but if I go again I would probably just stick with the drumsticks. Which by the way are pretty big compared to KFC drumsticks ,and tasted amazing ?. Got to say the best fried chicken I've had. I added a picture next to my bottle of water to show size.

not sure if it was just a bad day or something, but this place is way too overpriced for the quality of food that they serve. The salad is literally just coarsely chopped lettuce with kewpie and the rice was not even sticky, and the tonkatsu was literally just normal panko breaded chicken.Maybe it's cause im japanese but this was such a waste of money. jjust look at the photo. it looks like something that i can make out of my college dorm.

I’ve never had Japanese fried chicken before this but I heard good things from YouTubers like Chris Broad from Abroad in Japan, so I decided to give it a shot. This not only did not disappoint but it SURPASSED my expectations! this is the best fried chicken I’ve had in a long time. My girlfriend and I ordered/split the large combo with Wings, drumsticks and nuggets and immediately after she said “This better be up to the Hype” she took a bite and immediately realized it was. If you like fried chicken, I recommend checking this place out. It is mind blowing how good this chicken is and i will definitely get chicken from here again.

I had an fixin'' for fried chicken while my kids craved Katsu curry. My husband wanted something fast as he was close to crossing over to hangry status. Katiju was close to the house and it met all of our needs and according to Uber it was going to be ready in less than 20 minutes. We ended up picking up the food and eating it at the place. We were not disappointed. Wings super moist and extra crunchy. Very similar to Korean fried chicken but marinated karaage style. No complaints with the kids and their to Katsu curry. Hubby settled with the bento combo, Katsu and karaage. Definitely will come back. Even downloaded the app so I can earn points for the next order.
