Hidden gem! This is a no frills spot. A group of four came on a random Sunday looking for a good lunch and after reviewing the reviews, I’m glad to say this place is incredible! Two of us shared the fish plate (we got half rice, half pasta). You also get potatoes, a bottle of water, and a salad included. Fair warning, it’s a lot of food and we didn’t finish it even though we were hungry!
My other friends got the chicken and lamb (also did half rice, half pasta). Also, PLEASE try the green sauce - it’s a little spicy but so fresh and absolutely compliments and elevates the food.
I will 100% be back!

If you're from a certain part of East Africa, steer clear of this place; I left quickly due to the disrespectful treatment from that young lady. The environment was unwelcoming, although some men tried to show kindness.
Food that taste like home cooked, soo tasty!
Good recommendation to everyone

First visit of many for sure! I ordered the chicken and lamb over pasta with side salad to go( I think you get more salad if you dine in. The food was very YUMMY, and flavorful! The hot pepper sauce gave it that umph! Took me from like to love!! I would definitely recommend the lamb so very tender! (ALTHOUGH, I can see me ordering this again and again)
I gave it 4* on atmosphere because of all the construction going on outside, but the inside was clean and organized.

This place is a must visit. Outstanding food, the fish, chicken, and lamb were flavorful and tender. The pasta and rice were delicious and really paired well with the meat and green sauce. We also received some stewed potatoes in a tomato sauce that really balanced out the meal.
Finished our meal with tea and I have to say it’s an essential order if you like spiced teas. It’s perfectly sweet, warm, and has a strong ginger and spice flavor.
The service and ambiance were also great. The servers and hosts took care of our party and all of us can’t wait to return. Overall this is a great restaurant and well worth the visit!

Shoutout to Kulan Restaurant in Falls Church, VA — we need this in Minneapolis!
I had the chance to try Kulan Restaurant while I was in Falls Church, and it was incredible. The pasta, rice, and goat meat were packed with flavor and cooked just right. I even spoke with the owner — such a humble and welcoming guy. Minneapolis has a big Somali community and a growing food scene, and I’m telling you, Kulan would shine here. We need this level of Somali cuisine in our city. Bring Kulan to Minneapolis and show them how it’s really done!

Can’t say enough good things about this place; my friend says it’s best fish sandwich he’s ever had. The lamb and rice is also excellent. Ask for a Somali tea!
