Powerful coffee and lively atmosphere. I take away a star because the staff are the quintessential brooding hipster coffee shop workers who are too cool to smile at you. It's a customer service job, folks.

Strawberry matcha latte was tasteless - it tasted like straight milk, not matcha or strawberry. The workers also had some rude attitudes, yet still switch the iPad over for a tip. The cashier rolled her eyes when I asked if she was able to warm the croissant I ordered, which also did not taste good. When I asked the employee who was making my drink to put it in a to-go cup (not sure why it was in a regular glass either), she gave me a dirty look as if I was asking for something out of line. Would not recommend and will not be returning.
The coffe was great. However the noise level was not. I couldn't hear my ticket number because of the music. Too many people and not enough chairs ... really should be a take out coffe spot

They have the best biscuit sandwich! The coffee and tea was delicious. My fiance got the cardomom vanilla latte and I got the gen mai chai. We also got a cardomom Kouign-Amann pastry. We will definitely be back to try more.

Fiancé and I wanted to stop in bc we’d read great reviews, and they didn’t exaggerate! We got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich, Gen Mai Cha green tea, cardamom vanilla latte, and the cardamom kouign amann pastry. Definitely worth a long line on Saturday morning 👍🏼!

I don’t do Google reviews, but this place has the best bacon, egg, cheese biscuit. Hands down. I think I’ve ever had in my life. If you’re there it’s worth trying the vanilla cardamom latte too.
My wife and I love coming into Rare Bird, they have fantastic breads and loaf, and other foods. Coffee, teas and just a great atmosphere and nice people and sit indoor or outdoor.

I used to love this place, but something is off during my today's visit. First of all, the cappuccino used to have the latte art with lots of foam. However, today the cappuccino presentation was very messy (it's ok not to cute art on top but the foam is not even foamy today). The coffee tastes very acidic today (which it used to be all around balance and smooth). They used to ask if whole milk is ok, but today there was no question asked.
Secondly, the sandwich I always ordered is bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Today, the texture of the cheese is off (super dry and not melting). The egg no longer has the moisture like it used to be.
Finally, it's always been self service coffee shop but the checkout shows tipping options from 15% to 25%. We had to pick up our own coffee, clean up our own table, and find out own seating. There is barely any service provided so I'm not sure why the tipping range is so high.

Love this place. Some of the very best coffee around, and arguably the best baked goods around. Friendly people and bright airy shop.

I come here almost every single day because I think this is probably the best coffee shop in the DMV. Consistent and delicious. Their food is also incredible - love the breakfast sandwiches & tomato tart!
