From the moment I walked downstairs into our dining room, I was utterly mesmerized. The setup was breathtaking—every detail thoughtfully arranged, making the space feel both elegant and personal. It was like stepping into a dream. The culinary experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Chef Carlos and his team of servers didn’t just meet expectations; they far exceeded them. Their professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness elevated the evening to another level. The food? Absolutely divine. Every dish was a masterpiece, crafted with care and bursting with flavor. A special shoutout to Lauren, who was simply wonderful to work with from start to finish. I had a vision for my 50th birthday—a celebration that reflected different chapters of my life through food. Lauren listened with such care and brought it all to life. The menu was a heartfelt journey: short ribs reminiscent of my mom’s cooking, country ham in honor of my late dad’s favorite Sunday biscuit, and flavors that transported us back to our time in Charleston, SC, where our children were born. Every bite carried meaning and memories. Root & Stem didn’t just cater an event; they created an unforgettable experience that touched my heart. I would recommend them *without hesitation*. They go above and beyond, delivering not only exquisite food but also a deep sense of care and connection. They were so professional and handled drop off of the food with the least contact possible. It was a pleasure to leave the cooking to them for our small dinner party.

This is a great cafe tucked into a giant behemoth of an office building. If you’re here for a meeting stop in for some seriously delicious food. There’s always something tasty to choose from and they make fresh specials daily.

We used Root & Stem Catering for our son's bar mitzvah. The food was delicious and the staff were wonderful. Craig was super easy to work with the entire time. We definitely recommend them.

I was chosen to do the legwork for the Hotel / Venue / Caterer for 70+ people for the burial of my Colonel Father in Arlington National Cemetery. I chose Top of the Town as the venue. It is right by our hotel the Virginian. I cannot say enough about the beauty of the views from this venue. If you are planning an event, I highly recommend this combination of venue / caterer / hotel!!! I chose Root and Stem as the caterer primarily due to their approach to cuisine; organic, farm to table, and sustainability. The second reason was their menu was categorized to accommodate your idea of event Words cannot adequately express how lovely and delicious the food was! My point of contact was a lady named Noel . She was so patient and kind, even when I was having anxiety over the event. The attendee list slowly increased over time. She made me feel reassured that this would go well. The event was a huge success, and this was due to Noel, her assistants, and the chef! Everyone raved about the food! I mean everyone. Smoked salmon, charcuterie, amazing crab dip with sherry accents, a cheese selection fit for royalty, a shrimp appetizer that was delectable, a bar with skewered fruit, and sweet potato chips. There was a coffee station with a pastry selection, and one of the biggest hits were the dark chocolate macaroons!!!! These were my selections from their vast menu, and each selection I received feedback on how fantastic they were. I wish I had photos to share, but I was so distracted by family and the views. If you have to choose a caterer. Look no further. This is the one for you!!!

I was recently at a lunch where the food came from Root and Stem. It was delicious. There was a butternut squash soup that someone said was like eating dessert. They served it with oyster crackers. The bowls and spoons were biodegradable (YES!).
