Due to us having a larger party, we were seated in the back of the restaurant. After a while it got a little hot and stuffing back there but everything else was good. There were also a few order mixups but they took care of it promptly.
I was traveling through the area on my way back from Virginia.Beach and stopped at the restaurant. I ordered the special which was a chicken sandwich with fries, and I got a side salad. The balsamic dressing was some of the best I've ever tasted.
The atmosphere was beautiful, and they had a deck overlooking the Appomattox River. The server who happened to be a college student (and my daughter) did a fabulous job serving customers.

After a few hours of shopping for a couch and finally closing the deal, it was time for a glass of wine and a late lunch. Michele read the reviews on a small café right next to the Green Front leather warehouse. The reviews are right on the mark. Charley’s Waterfront Café was outstanding. Weather permitting, if you’re at the café for dinner eating outside on the patio is a must.
