Effingham's Coal Fired Pizza and Taphouse

The pizzas are great. We had a large group 11 ladies and the staff were not welcoming. They acted very annoyed that they had to accommodate us. I thought they were going to turn us away. The waitress was inexperienced and inattentive. The food took at least 45 mins. After dinner she never brought the checks we had to seek her out to pay our bills.

Effingham used to be one if my favorite restaurants in town. The chicken and waffles were the stuff of legend. But it's changed and not a good way. They charge top tier prices for mid food at best. Exs: their salmon and grits taste like came from an instant packet, just add hot water ($26). Their chicken and waffles are served with packets of Smuckers Breakfast Syrup, made with high fructose corn syrup and no actual maple ($28). Either lower your prices or improve the food quality guys. It's embarrassing.

They also regularly have things listed as gluten-free that aren't actually available gluten-free when you try to order.

While I appreciate the appearance and attempt at making it classy the service and skill did not match! It is not bad food, but definitely not for the price!

Amazing restaurant in Farmville Va! The food is absolutely to die for especially with there new summer menu. And the service is impeccable and does everything they can to create an enjoyable experience!

This cafe fits in perfectly with the Hotel Weyanoke's cozy vibe. Bright and airy with delicious omelettes and Belgian Waffles, upbeat wait staff and careful service. Families as well as couples will be comfortable.

We came for breakfast and had the eggs Benedict, breakfast sandwich, and omelette. The hollandaise sauce was delicious and everything came out nice and warm

Always enjoy eating here. Nice wine and cocktail list. Food is elevated classics, nice but not fancy. Easy to get a few dishes to split. The pizza has a wonderful crispy crust.

Very nice place to eat. The smoked salmon appetizer platter was delicious.
