The Coffee Mill

Staff were really friendly! We just nipped in for a takeaway coffee and ended up getting a panini and bagel too to takeaway. The food was delicious and two strangers asked me where I got my food when I was eating it nearby haha. Will be back!

Stopped in for a late lunch with eldest child. Pleasant girl behind the counter acknowledged us when we went in and left us to pick our table. Good choice n the menu from baked potatoes to all day breakfast. I opted for the scrambled egg and smoked salmon on toast while daughter had a 'small' breakfast with a side of black pudding. We had visited the castle area and wanted to have coffee & lunch out of the main tourist area. We skipped down the steep steps right by the castle to the Grassmarket and followed the road round to The Coffee Mill Cafe which was a real find. Great service and delicious food. The owner was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend the haggis and roasted vegetable wrap with onions and bbq sauce. The red velvet cake was also awesome and the coffee is fantastic too.
