The food is excellent! Service is great. The atmosphere is very welcoming and an amazing dining experience. This is a restaurant I would highly recommend.

First time eating here, came here to celebrate a special night out. As food connoisseurs, we are used to eating at a variety of restaurants, all over the US and at all different levels from simple to high-end. Overall the atmosphere and server, Dakota, were great! Our appetizer and even slice of pie we would definitely recommend and come back for! Unfortunately, our entrees fell a little short and were not worth the price tag seeing as for less money we could have had better tasting food down in the valley. I would try again but the overall impression was slightly disappointing.

Lovely New Year's Eve experience. $30 per person for an appetizer & a cocktail. We chose the spinach artichoke dip - very good. Pork belly appetizer smelled delicious! Rooftop bartenders were very nice & attentive. Get there early to sit near heater ;) Perfect view for the midnight bells.

During a visit to Fincastle, 1772 Rooftop on Main was highly recommended. It offers with great view of the downtown area and friendly staff. However, the menu is limited and not inclusive of varying dietary preferences. While they did answer direct questions, servers were not particularly informative about entrees or helpful to me in making selection (I am a vegetarian). I ordered a salad with a modification to eliminate meat and a side of mashed potatoes. It was filling enough, but definitely not exciting. What I thought would be a really enjoyable, upscale dining experience ended up being just so-so. A couple of other details: they require reservations (even on a slow weeknight) and there are no umbrellas on the tables (at least on my visit) so all tables are in full sun. The bar has shaded seating, though a minimal number of seats.
