In the context of the village you eat well and spend the right, extravagant but very nice people. If you have a chance stop

We love the vibe of Dogtown and Floyd, VA in general and visit often. When Dogtown is very busy service can be slow but since we're never in a hurry, we sit back and enjoy the atmosphere, local scenery, and music. We generally favor the salads but the fried foods are good as well. The wood fired pizza is delish. Love the locally brewed IPAs. There is one issue that keeps me from giving Dogtown 5 stars . . . . they do not provide recycling containers for cans and bottles. And, the restaurant generates lots of empty cans/bottles every time they are open! I get that providing recycle containers and having them emptied adds additional overhead cost but, really, just raise the price of a beer by a nickel! Come on, Chad, we need Dogtown to step-up, set an example for other shops, and provide recycle containers.

This place never disappoints. From the draft selection to the wood fires pizza, laid back atmosphere, you can't beat it. Great for a day trip.

Drove over an hour specifically for this restaurant. Waited over 30 minutes with two small children and still never received our drinks. Horrible service.

Drove to Floyd Va today to eat here. Waited 30 mins to take drink order. 30 more minutes still no drink. Other tables were seated and eating and we still had no drink. We weren’t dressed as nice as the other tables.

Had a GREAT meal at Dogtown Roadhouse. (They are only open for dinner.) We had wood fired pizza (pepperoni & extra cheese) and southwest salad and baby kale salad. The pizza was delicious and just the right amount of charr...but not burned. Probably the best wood fired pizza we've had in years. The salads were tasty and nice and fresh. I especially liked the touch of lime and cilantro in my southwest salad. Service was quick and friendly. Total with tip was $40. We felt like this meal was outstanding. Would definitely return if given the chance.

I just ate lunch at this normally fantastic restaurant but just had the worst meal ever there! I ordered a Southwest salad, which I've had before, which was awful!! The lettuce was brown. The dressing was supposed to be cilantro which it was not. I told the waitress I didn't like the salad. I wasn't offered to order a different salad. I finally sent the salad back as it was terrible. I also ordered a pizza which wasn't that great either! When I got my bill, I was still charged for half of the salad because I had taken 3 bites. This is totally ridiculous! I eat and drink there often as I live in Floyd. It isn't the money at all but the principal. I don't know who the manager is there at this time but in my opinion they really made a mistake. It is sad but I won't be eating at this restaurant for a long time!! Very unhappy customer!

Really good pizza and beer overlooking Floyd's Park and playground. Worth driving in from Hillsville. Kid and canine friendly.

Appalachian pizza (with apple butter) was incredible! Veggie pizza and southwestern salad were also very good. Reasonable prices. Good beer and cider selection. Very loud inside and dark so I wouldn't say the atmosphere was the best. Server was very friendly.

The Doghouse Roadhouse is a great gathering spot in Floyd for musicians to showcase their talents. They have free band nights and open mic on Sunday evenings 5-8, sign up starts 4:30. You can hear a lot of interesting discussions and powerful music. Drinks are reasonable. Haven't tried any of the food. Website suggestion to note free music nights with genre

They were”open” but out of at least half the entire food AND drink menu. We couldn’t find another place so ordered pizza. It was good. But no salad was available. Even the pen for signing the credit card slip didn’t work. We won’t be going back.

Reason for lower overall rating is because of lack of response from manager and owners despite repeated calls on a billing issue. My card was overcharged subsequent to what was a very nice restaurant experience. The restaurant manager (Liam) spoke to me on few occasions but never got back! The restaurant email doesn’t reply back either!! Pay them only in cash next time.
