“Pantoufle is a must for anyone who loves good food.
We were two Brits on a tour from New Orleans to New York, arriving in Floyd on a Saturday.  After sampling mainly burgers, grits and gumbo for 11 days, we wanted to taste something different. We called in to Pantoufle on a whim and got a warm welcome. The French twist on familiar foods was tempting; we both enjoy visiting France so tried our luck. Happily, we were accommodated in the fully booked restaurant as soon as we arrived. How lucky we were!
My wife started with the leek and potato soup, then had the braised short rib ( as close to the french Boeuf Bourgignon as she can remember) with mashed potatoes. I started with bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar; you can tell a lot about a restaurant by the standard of bread and it was obviously home made. I progressed onto a white bean and slow-cooked shoulder of pork dish topped with fennel. It was excellent.
The wine was very reasonably priced, compared with all our other nights in the US, and delicious (we went with the recommendation of the owner, Grayson). It was a taste of France in Floyd.
Were I to return I would ask Grayson what he would recommend and not even look at the menu, such was my confidence in his knowledge, chef and desire to please.
We went on our way with delicious chocolates from his adjacent shop.

“Just by chance myself and my girlfriend were riding the Blue Ridge Parkway and was looking for someplace to eat and I just took off onto Rt 8 and she pulled up The Parkway Grille. Let me say that the little young one that took us to our seat was so attentive and amazed me of how young she was and sharp as a tack!!! Big compliments to the Chefs and the kitchen and the servers! The sandwiches that we both had were Hot served and were amazingly delicious!!! We were from Lynchburg and never had ever been in that quaint Little gem of a town of Floyd! We fell in Love with it and the Parkway Grille! We will be back! We both gladly will give y'all a 5 Star rating!❤️☮️⚜️”

“I've enjoyed Hunt Bros. for over 20 years. The slices are a great after work snack and on a "we just want the whole thing" night, one phone call is all. Our local Marathon ladies make them less than a mile from our house !”

“This is absolutely the best dining experience...every time we go! The food is exceptional! Chef Oshie never disappoints. Brussels sprouts are an amazing appetizer with whipped feta and sumac (not the poison!?) The shrimp and grits were extraordinary with a roasted red pepper sauce! The duck confit was the best we've ever had! And the portions are generous. The food never disappoints here! There is also a great variety of wonderful wines! ? The staff is top notch! Gunnar does a great job managing this beautiful restaurant. The views are stunning. Ashley is amazing with reservations. So helpful! Robert, Sadie and Chris were there for our every need and our server, Megan, was great!! She was the perfect mix of attentive without being intrusive. Her timing was impeccable. Always ready with whatever we needed. We have had this experience every time we dine there. And a trip to the winery is also delightful. Mr. Ray and Melissa are the best! This is the gold standard of establishments. Always exceeds our expectations!”

If you love flavor, good people and a casual, relaxing atmosphere - with nothing on their menu to "stay away from," this is the place to go! “Friendly staff and a great selection of gluten free foods and sweets. Very knowledgeable and explained how their in-house made goods were marked for allergens. Very good stock and a tad pricey but good value for what you are getting. Will return and I recommend for person's with allergies.”
