Our family just had a weekend wedding at Villa Appalaccia, and it was an incredibly good experience. We'd been to the Winery before, but this just made us want to come back, and we live 4 hours away. They worked with the bridal couple in every possible way, provided great wines, helped us with the beer on the kids' own ABC license, and did almost all of the setup and takedown - minimal work for the family - we just had fun and more fun. The owners are very kind and really take their time during your wine tasting. I tasted 8 - 9 wines for $10, which is reasonable. So yummy, I brought home two bottles and will likely go back before we head back toward Raleigh. They also serve food, and on the weekends pizza from their pizza oven. We went on a Friday so it wasn't up and running.

Their wines are surprisingly good. Highly recommend doing a tasting. Then order some lunch. If you're visiting on the weekend, hang around and enjoy the entertainment. Plus, they are dog friendly. If you have a well-behaved pup, bring them along.
