Stopped in during our visit to the holiday market this year, bought some breads and pastries. The bread was great , & even better toasted! The pastries we purchased, however, where like a rock, even tried warming it up, it was hardly edible-so disappointed! Maybe we will give it one more try before moving onto another spot!

We bought a loaf of pesto and cheese bread. Delicious! We ate half the loaf before we go home. Reasonable price. Should have bought two.

When in Floyd this is a must do. Opens at 10am. One table inside to sit and eat your breakfast and take in the wonderful smell of fresh bread. We bought a loaf of (still warm) sourdough. Great cappuccino, espresso, vegan baked goods. Next door is a funky open air space offering vegan as well as other good foods. Barb makes all the baked goods she is also quite the artist. We have been to floyd several times and happy we found Greatful bread .

Great little spot for pastries. Perfect Floyd spot.

Awesome little bakery in Floyd. Usually only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Cinnamon rolls are huge and amazing. Also have an assortment of cookies, scones, and BROWNIES! But, like…it’s all about the bread. All is great: White, cheddar, jalapeño cheddar, walnut wheat, olive…and probably more that I can’t remember. And the owner is the baker and sells the bread right out of a storefront on the ground floor of her house. She is super outgoing and fun to talk to. You really owe it to yourself to walk down the hill from the main drag to this gem in Floyd.

Don’t miss this place! This little bakery is the perfect example of the types of local businesses that make Floyd great! Driving down the hill on Old Hensley Road off the main drag (221) near El Charro, you are greeted on the left by a cute chalet-like house with an eclectic yard filled with sculptures, a fishpond and beautiful plantings. I’ve been enjoying Grateful Bread for years and never miss the opportunity to stop in and see the owner’s latest offerings. They NEVER disappoint. My son loves the cheddar jalapeño bread. The walnut wheat is amazing, too! (But they are ALL SO GOOD!!) The generously-sized mouth-watering cinnamon rolls, cookies, and brownies are all so yummy and decadent and are great to share. At Thanksgiving time you can even pick up her homemade stuffing which is to die for.If you luck out and can make it to the bakery when it’s open, you will be glad you got the opportunity to stop by! Oh! And the sweet lady who runs the shop is the icing on the cake! Don’t miss this Floyd landmark (but if you do, you can also get Grateful Bread goodies during the warmer months at OuterSpace, another TOTALLY COOL Floyd venue that is worth the stop right up the hill from the bakery).

What a gem of a bakery. Bread and other goodies made right on the premises, from scratch and if you are lucky, you can get straight from the oven. Bought a loaf of sourdough and cherished the first bite of a warm fresh bread. I talked the owner, Barb, for a while and found out that the store has just recently opened.

very disappointed. I guess coming from New Orleans where we have world famous pastries and french bread is a huge difference.I got their White Chocolate chip, Coconut & Pineapple scone. It was crumbly, greasy and no chips. We got their cheddar bread. It was like a rock. Heavy, little cheese and dry. It makes a better door stop then a loaf. It is EXTREMELY dense. I've never encountered such a thick heavy dense bread. Irish Soda bread is lighter then this was.14 states and 4 countries, WOW this is a one-time shopping "experience." But I know where to go for hockey season!
