Absolutely the worst food in Floyd County or that I've ever had. Service was terrible and people are very rude. Would not recommend

Let me start by saying the food and service were excellent! But, the evening had a rocky start. I made reservations in mid January for Valentine's Day night. I'm a single mom and wanted to take my son out for a special evening. He is 5, so I understand people might assume the worst. I called that afternoon to check on my reservation and they couldn't find it. They called me back and said I had a reservation for 6:30 pm at a high top table. At 6:10 I got a call asking if I was going to make it for my 6:00 reservation. I was in the parking lot, so we made our way inside. When I gave my name, the hostess went back to the podium and had a conversation with several waitresses. After a short wait we were seated at a table for 6. When I asked the reason they said the smaller tables were or couples because it was Valentine's Day. I mentioned that that was why I made reservations in advance. We were not moved to a better table. Meanwhile they seated a pregnant woman in her 3rd trimester at the high top table. Obviously none of these girls have ever been pregnant. You really don't want to climb up to get into your seat at that stage of the game. But, we were there and seated, so I decided to let it go. The waitress we had was wonderful. The food was excellent and my son got several compliments from other guests on his gentlemanly behavior. We even purcased a signed giclee canvas (local artist StarRoot) before leaving for the evening. We had the fried green tomatoes, he had chicken tenders and the fruit bowl (it was beautiful and very fresh) and I had the crab cake and cocoa rubbed steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. A little grace could have been extended to my son at the start, but hopefully this was a learning experience.

We ate dinner there on Friday, Nov. 1. The wonderful hostess remembered we wanted a window seat, and since we were early, we ordered a drink from the bar. The bartender was so nice and friendly. Our waitress, Justine, was superb! So friendly and top notch! and our food could not have been more delicious. I ordered the salmon dish with pasta, artichokes, etc. and my husband ordered scallops. (he said they were the best he had ever eaten plus so were the mashed potatoes.). The other couple with us raved about their dinners also! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, and we cannot wait to come back. You are truly doing everything right...your staff and your food! Thank you! most sincerely, Julie and Ron Morgan, Danbury, NC

I had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It was juicy and packed full of flavor. The house made chips were crispy and cooked perfectly with a perfect amount of salt to them. My boy had fries with his which were done perfectly and delicious as well. The hostess was warm and welcoming which matched the wonderful energy of the tentative servers! A wonderful place to stop for a meal, you will not be disappointed.

Atmosphere is always great. Service awesome. But let's talk food, wife's Cod was great. I ordered the special Scollops. Large Scollops cooked with a Cranberry glaze. 4 little Scollops no more then 1 in across. Glaze had Cranberries, but no glaze was more of a flavorless sauce, added nothing to the 4 mini scollops. Also, the cost of these little Scollops was 33 dollars. We love this place. But you can do much better.

This a great little small town restaurant with remarkably good and fresh food including excellent seafood. You must experience this restaurant if you pass through or stay near Floyd, VA!

I never write these things cause I just don't expect much and who really cares what I (or you) think. But wait, the steak I had last Thursday night was surely one of the top three best of my life! There was one! guy doing all of this waiting, ordering etc., amazing.

I love martinis every day and their martini was super; their house gin is Bombay, which is my standard (not some cheap bathtub stuff).

Opinion: Martinis are not snooty they cut to the chase. Our waiter was also the bartender.

If I wrote my personal best dinner scenario, it would have been like it was.

And the dessert, are you kidding?

This place has AMAZING food! The cheese curds and fried pickles, I guarantee, will be the best you've ever had! I had the Philly cheesesteak club and it was so good. Everything is fresh and that makes a world of difference.

Have no idea how the food is. Stood at the hostess stand for five minutes while several staff walked by and one talked to departing guests. Hostess showed up when a group arrived and walked by me to greet them. I left.

My wife and I have dined at Parkway Grill a number of times. The food and service are excellent, prices are reasonable, it’s local.
The stir fry with beef tips was excellent. The tips were cooked perfectly and there were plenty of them. The food was served hot.
The shrimp and grits was also fantastic.
We arrived at Parkway Grill just before 4:00 and the lunch menus were still on the tables. The prices were lower than dinner prices but I didn’t feel there was a lack of food options.
Service was excellent.
The one item that caused me to take a star off Atmosphere was the loudness of the music. When we entered the restaurant, it was at a very nice volume. Halfway through our meal, someone turned the volume up to an uncomfortable, unpleasant level. As the restaurant interior is very echoing, the music reverberated through the area. Next time, I will ask for a more conversational volume.
