This is a great locally owned spot for amazing food at great prices. The gyro is only $5! The portion size was great, they did not skip on the gyro meat. The quesadilla is only $7 and was loaded with delicious marinated chicken. We did not get the bowls but several other customers did and they looked huge. The staff is super friendly. Definitely give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

Why is it that I've paid $18.50 the past two times for a quesadilla and grape leaves? The menu says $12 for lunch. Absolutely absurd.

I used to enjoy getting food here but recently with the new employees the experience has gotten pretty bad, I hope it changes soon.
With the lunch plates on the menu iy says it comes with a side and a drink, and costs 12$
After selecting a lamb lunch plate the cashier looked confused and had to figure out if they served it and after that they charged me 18$ and didn't understand it came with the plate.
My co worker had a similar experience recently.
If the employees here don't know what food items they serve or how much it costs im going to have to stop going here.

Chicken was soggy, wrap was soggy, staff couldn’t speak English, paid .90 cents extra for extra sauce, that was missing. My ladies order had no feta and barely any Tzatziki. Awful experience, won’t be returning. Other location DT Cairo in Madison Heights was scores better.
Owner needs to review his location and conduct some serious quality control.

I absolutely love this restaurant and their employees. Their food is always amazing as well as reasonably priced for the sheer amount you receive. It's easily my favorite restaurant of all time. Their employees are kind and caring and have never ever gotten my order wrong and they even are nice enough to give me extra banana peppers on my Mediterranean bowl when I ask for them (they have the BEST banana peppers.) Overall a 10/10 restaurant, staff and atmosphere and I'm going to be a lifelong patron. Downtown Cairo, i love you.
