The service sucks and the waitress was rude and they ran out of food and didn’t say anything until after we ordered. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

It was cold inside the restaurant so I wanted to eat outside. There were several tables outside open and A table of people were out there. The first waitress told me there wasn’t Any room outside. Because I was so cold, I went out there and looked and saw two tables free. A waitress was out there and told me that it was a private party and indicated I couldn’t be out there. However, one of the people at the table previously to that pointed at one of the table and told me I could sit there so they evidently didn’t care if I was out there. Eventually, I decided to go inside and ordered the Open faced roast beef sandwich. The roast beef was very tough and the gravy was all congealed like jello so it was gross. The potatoes were real because there were chunks of potato in the mashed potatoes so at least they were real, but they covered it with the disgusting jelly like gravy. I make homemade gravy at home and it never looks like that. They need to put some tenderizer on their roast.

A terrific old fashioned diner located in downtown Franklin. Outstanding service and great food. Also has a bar if you would like an afternoon or evening cocktail. Can’t go wrong by having a meal here.

Only giving 1 star because I can’t give 0! Start off by saying the appearance looked unclean inside, dusty. The seats we had gave a small view of the kitchen where it was witnessed a black man “cook” plating foods with his BARE HANDS to include separating cheese slices for sandwiches and grabbing toppings for peoples burgers.Then the grossest part was the waitress attempting to refill my lemonade. She was taking iced tea and pitchers of lemonade to EVERY table in the restaurant refilling people’s public glasses. I told her NO REFILL please! It appeared as if she was touching the pitcher to the glasses of others. I was ready to vomit! The department of HEALTH needs to pay them a visit ASAP!

Went July 3rd I know they were busy but they way they treated us was crazy, like we were chopped liver.
When we arrived they stated it may be a while because they were just catching up understandable since the event was going on downtown. I saw menus so I grabbed them so we could look at what we wanted. Waitress helped everyone around us then blamed me because I got menus. There was another guy helping the waitress but he stated he could not take orders, but when his friends arrived he took their order. They just need to treat everyone the same.
I never had a bad experience at Fred's; always welcoming staff and customer service. Patient and informative of the specials and menu. I have been there quite a few times, even though it's a 15 mile drive to get there; I have never been disappointed. Everyone is friendly, Staff, owner and other patrons. I have had breakfast and lunch and it's all good. Hot, seasoned and prepared well. Waitresses are always attentive to refills, needs and very courteous. Sorry no pics, I can never wait to dive into my food.
