6 Bears & A Goat Brewing Company

Unfriendly staff .. very judgy and poor tasting beer. Would not recommend

Although we visited 6 Bears & A Goat a week ago, I wanted to write a quick review to provide constructive feedback if nothing else. The overall experience was fine, but the Mariners Mash was way under seasoned (I had to ask for salt) and the beer seemed overpriced for the portion received. When my wife received the Mae West “half” portion size I thought it was a mistake. The lager I chose was comparable to Yuengling Lager but at nearly three times the cost. I get it, micro-brewery prices; maybe next time I’ll have a Yuengling when I get home.

Here’s where the constructive feedback comes in. We ordered the Mozzarella Bites with house-made marinara sauce; the Bites were great, but the marinara sauce was refrigerator cold…I mean stone cold…zero heat applied. When we pointed it out to the server, she said it was supposed to be that way, “you know, the whole hot-cold thing.” Now I’ve heard of the “sweet-salty thing” and even the “sweet-sour thing,” but never “the hot-cold thing.” Is it a new culinary trend?

Lastly, when my wife finished her meal, the server asked if she could clear her dishes, no problem. But then she remained at the table, waiting to clear my dishes with food still on my plate. As she hovered over me, I paused, looked at her and my wife; she didn’t take the hint. From that point it was an uncomfortable 10-15 seconds while she stood over me as I finished the last two spoonfuls of my Mariners Mash. No pressure!

We haven’t been to the brewery in a while and thought we’d stop in since we were in the area. Will we go back, we’re not sure. Would we recommend, probably not.

So after going here for a year and a half it went from good to bad to really bad. We have tried to support this place but it just isn’t good. It smells of dirty dishes. The food quality has gone way down and the beer just tastes like dirty soap. Sorry, but we will never return again..

Has ok beer. Guy behind the bar very helpful. Was seated outside tho and forgotten for 20 mins. Don't believe we will be coming back. Severs literally walked right by us multiple times.

Food and service great.. atmosphere is meh

Wow! What a surprise, found a Gem, this will be our regular stop to Va Beach.

Great place to grab some food! Outdoor seating was plentiful and indoor as well. Really enjoyed the menu offerings as they weren’t overpriced and our server Matthew F was amazing. If you’re passing through or a local make sure to stop by!

Came for the beer, stayed for the name. I did not see six bears or a goat, but after a few pints I would’ve welcomed the encounter. The brews were excellent—each one making me feel smarter about hops than I actually am. Food was solid, staff friendly, atmosphere equal parts casual and ‘please don’t wrestle imaginary livestock.’ Five stars. Would drink here again, goat or no goat

We are from out of town and totally enjoyed this restaurant. The food was delicious and the beer choices plentiful. The service was excellent.

As an employee of a restaurant, this is the most coolest place I have ever seen. There are some setbacks that I would want to know in statement 3. I would have a good 5 star (look at 1.) Server was nice.

1. I flagged down a waiter for another coke and never came back with it. I had to watch another 10 minutes for our waiter to come to take our orders to get another coke.
2. The atmosphere was good friendly staff overall.
3. I don't know what the standards are, but the waiter didn't take the menus back. If the rules are to leave the menus on the tables, that's fine. Just wanted to know what's the standards for that are.
4.The food was good. Almost like the one at my restaurant job.

Overall really good place to go to when visiting Virginia or you live in the area.

We had a lovely lunch here (with our dog) . There is a GREAT outdoor space - tented & picnic tables with table service ❤️ The beer varieties will alllow for pallets of all persuasions. And there are vegetarian options on the menu ❤️ #WillBeBack ❤️ #HighlyRecommend 😁 A very nice place to decompress a little if you are traveling through on a #RoadTrip

We took friends there this week expecting a fine meal but it was just the opposite! We all were so very dissapointed!! First off, the food took forever to come out and second, the appetizers came out after the main course. My husband's and guests fish was burned, we couldn't figure out the clam chowder, wether it was new England or Manhattan, a and the birthday boys Ruben had very little corned beef. His bread looked like pumpernicle and not rye. My salad was OK. You can't do much to screw that up! Overall, we were VERY VERY disappointed! I hope they get their act together, because it once was a sight to go to
