I had the pleasure of working with Matt of Allmans BBQ in Fredericksburg and am sending the 5 star review I promised. I reached out through their web site and needed multiple racks of ribs to be delivered for a work lunch. Matt returned my e-mail promptly the next morning and was more than helpful and sent a written quote for the business lunch and even offered to deliver them for a very small fee. Less than half of what it would have cost to use one of the food delivery services. The ribs were delivered right on time, they were set up as if I had paid for a caterer! And best of all, they were absolutely AMAZING!!!! I received multiple compliments and most everyone at the luncheon said they were the best ribs they had ever eaten. I am no newbie to BBQ and they were 5 star quality. Not over powering with smoke which told me that Allman's understands about clean smoke and the meat was cooked perfectly. I will honestly say the ribs from Allmans are in the top three I've ever eaten in my life and that includes multiple BBQ joints that have been all over TV shows and the internet advertised as the best in the country. I am in no way shape or form related to this business nor am I paid in any way to advertise for Allmans BBQ. I just want to make good on my promise to Matt that if he could deliver as promised, I would make sure their great work would be put on this site and shared with everyone who reads this. If you're in the area, treat yourself to some real hand crafted BBQ.

Our first time here, we will return, highly recommended. The food was delicious, reasonably priced. Historic location. Our server waitress was friendly, super efficient, and watched over our needs. Everything we tried was great. The collard greens have a spicy kick to them. They have another hot BBQ sauce they can bring to your table, if requested. Pulled pork, beef brisket, coleslaw, beans, and all very good. Service is fast and polite, even if many tables are filled, due to the intelligence and caring from the waitress.

I've been going to Allman's for over 35 years. Try to stop in whenever my travels take me near Fredericksburg. I love the food and atmosphere and have never been disappointed.

I’m from Texas so I usually expect to be disappointed by barbecue this far north. I had one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I’ve had in my life. The coleslaw was perfect. You can get a meal here cheaper than most fast food places. Prices are fantastic. And stepping into the restaurant is like stepping back in time. Very cute 50s vibe. The service was great as well. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We’ve been here several over the years and thankfully it’s still the same! I believe it’s been here for about 70 years and still offers excellent BBQ.😋. We ordered the BBQ plate that comes with a generous BBQ sandwich, fries, cold slaw and a drink for $15.50. There are three types of BBQ sauce. Nothing fancy with about ten tables and a counter with stools. Great service and friendly staff.👍

I stopped at Allmans on a whim because I had been wanting ribs (St. Louis). They were delicious! Well seasoned, not slathered in sauce. They gave me all 4 sauces to try. They were all good. The only downsides: 6 small bones cost $21 (They actually look like a decent size in the picture but not meaty at all) I wouldn’t have minded if the ribs were bigger. And it didn’t come with any type of bread. If the ribs had more meat on them I would’ve given 5 stars.
