We go several times/month. Never seems crowded, food is consistently outstanding. Best Indian in the Burg!

Randomly stopped in here for dinner. Really amazing food. Onion Bhaji and chicken samosa appetizers were really well made and tasty. I asked for the Madras Curry and asked for some heat. It was so delicious and great level of heat. Girlfriend had mild lamb curry - also good. The garlic naan was some of the best Ive ever had. This is definitely my spot in FXBG if Im craving Indian cuisine.

Delicious food. The Crab Marsala was amazing (real crab meat)! Josh Roghan with lamb was incredible.
Pleasant atmosphere. Food was very fresh and made to order. The naan was warm and fluffy.
This was our second time. We brought our out of town friends and they were impressed!

My family and I have gone to Guru for 10+ years. It was always one of our favorite restaurants. Over the last year or two the food quality has been declining. This last order was very oily, not as flavorful, poor meat quality and there was a piece of metal in one of the dishes that was spit out. (Seemed like a piece of steel wool or something). Very disappointed and will not be returning after so many years. :(

The food was amazing—top-tier and the best Indian in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Highly recommended! The service was awesome, and the place was very clean and the best.

Food ordered is not bad but doesn’t taste like what it’s supposed to taste like. Average.

Overall, there was something that was just missing. It satisfied my craving for some crazy spicy Lamb Vindaloo and they delivered on the spice but the Tandoori Chicken was off in flavor and the overall for the Vindaloo was just average. Nothing was wow with the food. My brother and wife were less than impressed as well. It satisfied a craving but it’s nothing I’d go out of my way for.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience!

From the moment we stepped into Guru Indian Cuisine, we knew we were in for something special. The ambiance is warm and inviting, blending modern elegance with traditional Indian charm. The staff was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve.

Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece — beautifully presented and bursting with authentic flavors. The butter chicken was rich and perfectly spiced, the lamb rogan josh was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the garlic naan was fresh out of the oven and absolutely irresistible. The vegetarian options were equally impressive — the paneer tikka and dal makhani were standouts!

What truly sets Guru apart is the attention to detail and the quality of ingredients. You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every bite. Whether you're a longtime lover of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit.

We’ll definitely be back soon — and bringing friends! Highly recommend!

I’ve been eating here for ten years, except I assume it has changed ownership in recent years and since then the food has declined majorly. Large chunks of spices that make eating curries a little annoying— I’m constantly biting down on big fibrous/woody chunks of things and this was never a problem before— nor is it a problem elsewhere. The vegetable korma is less creamy than it was before and now super greasy, the leftovers have huge chunks of orange grease solidified on the top. The naan is dry and overcooked, naan should be soft and delicious and not hard and crispy. The basmati rice is white and sticky— how can you just casually skip the saffron, even if you use a rice cooker— this is supposed to be Indian rice and that entails saffron. Clearly a lot of reviewers are not accustomed to authentic Indian food or maybe aren’t eating the curries— for lovers of authentic curry this is disappointing. My husbands homemade aloo mutter is much better than anything we have gotten here in the last two years. I do not think we will be giving Guru another chance.
