The smoke from the bar is awful and irritates my asthma. There are 4 different chilis, each with a unique flavor profile. I really like the Texas chili, which is what's pictured. My husband gets hot dogs with Cincinnati chili and loves it. Service is pretty good, a bit slow considering how few customers are seated.

Favorite place to go for simple meal.
Recommend the chicken. Alamo and chili!
The appetizers are also very good.
Only bad thing I would say is the need for better ventilation to even a purifier the non smoking side is very smoked out. As former smoker it was a huge turn off

Omg I just saw Kaitlyn’s post! I was there too and saw every bit of what happened. The way the waitress Lauren acted was completely unacceptable. The girl she went off on had been nothing but sweet to everyone the entire night. She was polite, calm, and literally minding her own business.
So to watch Lauren suddenly raise her voice at her out of nowhere was honestly shocking. You could see how uncomfortable that whole table got, and even people at nearby tables were looking over because it was that uncalled for.
What made it even worse was how personal and petty Lauren made it. It felt less like a work issue and more like she had some weird jealousy or attitude toward that girl, and it showed. There was absolutely no reason for a paying customer to be spoken to like that. It completely ruined the vibe for everyone around. Thank Goodness we weren’t seated in here section or we would’ve left

My wife and I decided to stop in Hard Times for a quick bite to eat. It was a little crowded with weekend football fanatics. We both decided to try out their Texas Chillie.
When our chillie arrived I looked down and saw my bowl with 1/4 inch of very pale grease topping the bowl and I could clearly see just ground hamburger. No tomato paste or red tomato broth no other seasoning other just grease and ground hamburger ! It looked nothing like even a hint of chillie. Just A bowl of yellowish clear grease with ground up hamburger!
I asked the waitress what am I eating and she said chillie !
Wife and I took two bites and paid my bill and will never return to Hard Times again.

My favorite place in the Fredericksburg area. I can’t say enough about this place. They always take care of me and I’m now a regular. This place has slots, pool tables, darts, live music, allllll of the sports on literally 100+ TVs and their food hits the spot. Fairest price in town as as bang for your buck as they have a nice special every day. It’s never a dull moment here as there is are always people here having a good time. The staff and management are good people and like I said, they’ll take care of you.

The only thing I hated was the cigarettes....my hair smelled like a ashtray....everything else was 5 star...gucci lol. Get rid of the smoking...

Amazing food, great and friendly staff. Very proud to support an establishment that endorses and supports charity events as well as providing a great atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again!
