Hard Times Cafe - Fredericksburg

My favorite place in the Fredericksburg area. I can’t say enough about this place. They always take care of me and I’m now a regular. This place has slots, pool tables, darts, live music, allllll of the sports on literally 100+ TVs and their food hits the spot. Fairest price in town as as bang for your buck as they have a nice special every day. It’s never a dull moment here as there is are always people here having a good time. The staff and management are good people and like I said, they’ll take care of you.

The only thing I hated was the cigarettes....my hair smelled like a ashtray....everything else was 5 star...gucci lol. Get rid of the smoking...

Amazing food, great and friendly staff. Very proud to support an establishment that endorses and supports charity events as well as providing a great atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again!

Refused service for being a member of a motorcycle club. Shame they have to lump everyone in the same category. Their loss. I'll take my money and business elsewhere

The food is so reliably average, it’s practically a comfort food for people who don’t want surprises. It won’t change your life, but it won’t ruin it either.

The concerts are loud enough to drown out any thoughts about the sandwich you probably should’ve ordered instead. The beer is cold, plentiful, and hits the spot with surgical precision.

If mediocre food and excellent beer had a baby, this would be it.

Five stars. Because sometimes great music and beer are all you really need to pretend you’re having a night out.

Got kicked out bc the lady bouncer was so pressed when I asked two times why I needed to have a membership to stay in the local hard times. LOL real big power trip for someone making $15 a hour

Sorry to find that out once favorite chili joint closed the Fred location. Drove down to Spotsy for the other and it smelled so badly of smoke even in the vestibule that we couldn’t imagine eating there turned around and left.

I love Hard Times chili mac (Texas chili with bean and onions on top of noodles) and since I was in the vicinity, I stopped in.

As always, the chili was great and there was plenty to take home. The server was attentive and pleasant, but where I knock down points is the atmosphere. The restaurant interior has seen better days and it's right next to some type of venue....not sure what it is....where the cigarette smoke seems to seep into the restaurant. Not appetizing at all. Good food, attentive staff, lousy venue.

Food was warm at best, onion rings were soggy and loaded fries was more cheese than anything else. Security was the friendliest of everyone working there. No smoking was posted yet vaping was overlooked. Unless I am going for a show, I don't see myself going back.
