I’ve been enjoying HCK since their first location in Dale City, VA and now they’re a franchise and in more states than just VA! They opened this location within the past year, but I just never had the opportunity to stop in until recently, when I came in for lunch.Service was “just OK” as they have an odd setup being in an event center along with Water’s Edge Brewery. I will say that those with any disabilities or issues walking on steps should be aware, they have steep steps to get in the building and then more steps inside to get to the order counter. The guy working there was moderately friendly. They do offer their full menu, including wings.I opted for an order of wings, but since I love their sandwich so much (it’s seriously one of the best Nashville style hot chicken sandwiches in the area, and even in Nashville, as I’ve had most all there too). Quality of chicken breast, breading, and spice sauce are all amazing! They definitely have some of the ABSOLUTE BEST French fries – ANYWHERE!!!! And those wings – OMG, some of the best I’ve had from a restaurant. This was my first time trying their wings… I’ve heard many great things about them from “true foodies” (Heard mixed reviews from those who clearly aren’t) and have been wanting to try them, so I’m glad I finally got to. I’ll go back for them for sure!! But I do prefer the Stafford or Dale City (Woodbridge) location over this one.

Best chicken sandwich I ever had, I have literally traveled to Abt 35 different states, and consider my self a foodie. Amazing sauce, every bite was crispy and delicious. Gentleman bought the food out to the brewery I was sitting at. I would highly recommend and would come back again.

Never actually been there, but I ordered the "Medic" version of their loaded Mac and cheese and I'm an avid spicy food enjoyer, having eaten ghost pepper salsa and chips and what not, however I am now suffering the consequences of my arrogance. I had to break up the single bowl of that Mac and cheese into three servings and dilute it down with some more Mac and cheese I made at home and I'm still suffering. 10/10 would suffer again

It's darn decent food - but... The chicken tenders were delicious (we got the After Burner sauce and it was spicy and tasty!) The loaded fries were actually cheesy! Which is a total bonus and unexpected! The minus star is 100% about the cole slaw & ordering process. First, you have to give 20 pieces of info to order.. on your phone... annoying but welcome to 2023+ and you have to tip BEFORE getting your meal - which I HATE. Tipped more than minimum option, yet, finally, get text "order is ready" husband brings it. No side of cole slaw... (literally, 1 of 4 items we order) fine. He goes back (for the 3rd time, because there's no "your order accepted" text, just that "it's done" apparently)... get the side of slaw... It's gross... like soupy, not crunchy, full of sauce gross... and $3.99 (which seems pricy for a 1/2 cup of 99% cabbage/mayo gloopy slaw). The flavor is pretty good, which makes the fact that it's old and soupy sad... probably won't order food again while at the Brewery, except for the chicken tenders, because, again, those were great.

The food here is good I suppose. Or it would’ve been if the order had been correct so that I’d gotten to eat it hot.I was mad that they left out several things from my carry out order. I had to drive back to get them, then go eat cold fried food while everyone else had finished their food. And one person sits there without a meal while everyone else eats. I HATE that. It ruins the whole meal and evening. So definitely check your bags every single time here. It’s also annoys that they don’t take orders over the phone, just by Internet or in person. The chain has the nerve to charge like a 10% service charge (and suggest a 15% tip) to order and pick up your own order from their own web site.Having said that, the fries were crispy, and the fried pickles and good sauce are good. The good sauce is an orange mayo based sauce, kind of like Big Mac sauce with extra seasonings.Don’t expect the wing / hot sauce to be Buffalo style. It’s clear and sweet like general Tso’s sauce. The donuts were ok. They tasted like biscuits with cinnamon sugar. Ours weren’t hot. It’s fried chicken. If you’ve had fried chicken and seasoned fries before, you’ll know what this tastes like.

The chicken sandwich was great! It came with cole slaw on it. The fries have some kind of seasoning that makes them stand out, and they were cooked to perfection. The hotel that it's housed in had two guys playing live music covers on a Saturday night that were excellent. I sat down to enjoy it for longer than planned. The nearby Parking deck was $2 for 2 hours and ony $1/hour after that.

My girlfriend and I came here to eat dinner 6/3 @ 7:53pm. After a short and friendly interaction with the guy that took our order, we went and sat in the brewery area. It took a little over 25 minutes for us to finally get the food. We‘ve been here before and it’s always been an automatic text that tells us the food is ready. This time, it came from a random phone number. We thought nothing of it, maybe the system was down? I went up, got our food and we started our dinner like normal. I dropped my fork so my girlfriend was kind enough to get up and go get me another one. She was the one who left her information at the front, she confirmed her name and phone number with the guy taking the order. While she’s going to get another fork, the guy who took our order said “you have my phone number, do with that what you will.” She came back to the table and told me about the interaction. She was upset and felt uncomfortable. After our meal, I went up to the guy at the register and asked to speak with a manager. He said “why?”. To paraphrase, I said that it was inappropriate of him to take someone’s personal phone number, type it into his phone and then text them that their food is ready for the intention of flirting/hitting on them. He denied this, said it was to tell us our order was ready. And yet everyone else got an automatic text message? And he said to her, “you have my phone number, do with that what you will.” I ended up leaving, not asking for a manager again. This is completely inappropriate and we will not be coming back here. And if he denies it, ask the woman and the man standing in the kitchen, they surely heard me. Female patrons beware, you may get hit on for ordering a chicken sandwich

A very unique hot chicken place! Located within the interior of the Tap House, it serves as a very nice combo of hot chicken and beer. The service of the employees was top-notch. The atmosphere was nice, because you get the atmosphere of the tap house, whoever it is a little bit off-putting that you're eating what most would consider Street Food in a rather fancy Lounge setting, seemed a little funny to me.The food was good! Fries were exactly how fries should be, very crispy with a lot of potato and some dry rub seasoning on them. The chicken was different from that of other hot chicken places. The heat/spice comes from what seems to be a sauce rather than a dry rub, reminded me a bit of BonChon chicken. Was still very good though, and had plenty of meat on the tenders.

Parking: The street parking is free for a couple of hours on some days. There are a small amount of parking lots that are free and available on certain days as well.

Was excited to try the loaded Mac and cheese. The macaroni it self is flavorless, and texture of the noodles mushy. It’s basically just pasta with melted shredded cheese on it. The tenders were the only decent part of the Mac. Took a couple bites and had to throw it away.

Great chicken and to die for fries. I usually don't like krinkle cut fries but these are so good. Mac and cheese was good as well.

We have been waitin 30 minutes for boneless chicken wings and still have not received them. Not happy plus they were 12.99 for 8 Wings.

Chicken sandwich was very good with a crispy breading, liked the coleslaw and pickles on the sandwich with the base sauce which was like most places medium. Their medium sauce made with habanero pepper cranks up the heat quickly. Fries were very good and had a nice crunch to them. Only reason for 4 stars and 3 atmosphere is the eating area setting is totally set up for friday and Saturday night crowds and bands. Feel like you are in a deserted night club on weekdays. Would like to see more drink options and side dips.
