They took my money and I didn’t get no food. DO NOT GO THERE!!! They also said they will refund my money and I never got it! Will call corporate!

I went for oxtail, but they were sold out, so I bought the wings with peas and rice and plantain. The food was delicious. The ambiance was nice- reggae music was playing and the TV was on. When the pace picks up, this may be a promising Saturday venture.

New to the area and picked up dinner for my family on my way home from work. I ordered online via doordash, I only had three items I ordered and said it would take an hour. I questioned this and went in earlier.Restaurant had only one family of two in the restaurant. It took over an hour for the food to be ready. I ordered Jallof rice as sides and they didn't have any and would take additional time to make so I had to change the sides for my order.The Rasta Pasta didn't have any kick to it, just a cream sauce, the shrimp were nice. The j*** chicken was good, however overly spiced and hard to eat because of the spice level and we do like spice.I do understand a lot of restaurants are struggling with finding those who want to work. I hope they can find some help to help lighten the load there so they can focus on quality and consistency.

Will not be back. First, the service was horrendous. I waited about 1.5 hours to receive my food and it still was not done. In fact, at the 1.5 hour mark, the waitress indicated that they were starting the dish (curry pasta with salmon) and wanted to know if I was sure I wanted to leave. Of course I said - yes! During the 1.5 hour time, the waitress came to our table at the 40 minute mark and indicated there was a "situation", apologized for the delay, and indicated if I wanted to order something else. Otherwise, I could wait another 15-20 minutes. I figured the time it takes to prepare another order I might as well get the original dish I ordered. About the 1 hour mark, the waitress asked if I wanted something. I queried - complementary? She said yes. So I ordered some wings. After finishing the wings, it was time to leave. Overall - I thought I was on Candid Camera - where they were trying to see how long I'd wait for their curry pasta. Baffling at the very least - but will not go there again. And for the coup de grace - for a majority of the time - we (2 people including my self) were the only customers. I can ever so clearly see why.

Bottom line up front - great food, but be prepared to wait a bit for food after order I Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. My wife got goat stew and I got the j*** chicken; both off the lunch menu. Food was outstanding! Flavor for the j*** chicken and goat was authentic and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Portion sizes were good for a midday meal. Not many people in the restaurant so I was surprised the food took almost 45 minutes to come out. However our server was friendly and let us know about the delay.

I love Montegobay, it's hands-down the best Jamaican restaurant in Fredericksburg Virginia. I've been going there for years and am always surprised how affordable the food is! The j*** chicken is my favorite - I can't get enough of it. My sister loves the goat curry and my mom goes crazy for their red pea soup. I LOVE IT.

So I just got back from Montegobay and all I could say is, it was the best food of my entire life. I've been to a few other Jamaican restaurants in the past, but they all seem to pale in comparison. The staff is super friendly, the prices are fair, and the ambiance makes you feel at home. The j*** chicken was killer and my partner couldn't stop raving about their curry chicken and how authentic it tasted.

Montegobay Grille is my go-to place for authentic Jamaican food. They have the best tasting j*** chicken & their banana bread is to die for! The food tastes like an authentic Jamaican grille and remind me so much of family. The ambiance is marvelous too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone out there looking for good eats with a Jamaican vibe.

If I could rate zero I would. The most disrespectful customer service I've ever experienced. I ordered several dishes to go spending 85 dollars. After getting home and checking order 2 items were missing and I immediately called to let them know. The manager began to tell me she packed my order and everything was placed into the bag. I politely to her a mistake must have been made and she says no.After telling her again she says oh yes I did forget 1 item but not two again I said yes 2 items were missing. How can you tell me you did leave an item out but not 2. She asked for my number and said she would check and call me back but of course this never happened. I will never eat from there or recommend anyone. Being disrespectful is not how you treat customers. 29 May 2022I want to say thank you to Sedinam Ankah who restored my faith in good customer service. He personally took the time to call me and to fix my issues along with good food.
I love Montegobay Jamaican Restaurant. The food is always so delicious and their customer service is great. I have never had a bad experience there when I go in for lunch. They get the orders right and there's always a waitress around to refill my drink or bring me extra napkins if I need them... I've never had a bad meal at Montegobay and I recommend it to people all the time!

Ordered on Uber eats & my driver changed 4 times because the food took so long(close to 2 hours) & when it FINALLY got here my whole order was wrong. I had to throw it out. This is the 2nd time ordering from them & the same exact thing happened last time & this was MONTHS ago.

Ordered online. Wings, mozzarella sticks and a Pibb soda. Waited about twenty minutes - went in to pick up. They told me it would be another 5 minutes so I went and waited in my car for another 10 minutes just to be safe. Went back in - they brought out wings with nothing else. I stated I was still waiting for my Pibb and mozzarella sticks. They have no Pibb - I take Sprite. Sprite was in a clear take-out cup and tasted more like club soda. I tell them, again, I'm still waiting on my mozzarella sticks. They go back to the kitchen to come back out and say they don't sell them. I show them my phone order - they tried to give me a 50% off coupon for my next visit instead of offering me a refund. I told them I don't want a coupon - I don't want to pay for something I never received. They take the coupon back and say they are refunding me. I never got my refund.

Happened to be in Fredricksburg, VA for work not Personal. Happen to have a craving for my style of cuisine in Caribbean Food. Came into restaurant that happened to have a couple of people in it. Wasn't greeted upon entering establishment. Walked to Bar area where a couple sat and then waited for someone to come from the Kitchen area to greet once after what look like a cook acknowledge someone new is in the building.Once after being greeted I told the hostess interested in ordering take out. I asked review a menu before placing an order. Customer service Wasn't everything but, she made up for it by being funny.I ordered the Escovitch Fish Entree and a Kola Champagne for my troubles. I waited a good 20 min. for the dish it was done up nice on presentation but, Fish itself not meaty enough and fried slightly to hard.Maybe next time I try them some of the critiques will have been reviewed and then we can give a better review but, at this time I believe the location has some growing to do.
