Talk of the Mountain Crab Cakes and more

I am gluten intolerant and usually I can’t have fried shrimp or crab cakes. We decided to try this place since it advertised no fillers in the crab cakes and GF. I’m so glad we stopped. It’s a small place and easy to miss but my crab cakes were so delicious. I also had fries which are GF and coleslaw. The hush puppies aren’t gluten free, but I had more than enough food. After we finished our lunch, I mentioned to the owner what a treat this was to be able to have crab cakes and a few minutes later he brought out a couple of fried shrimp the were gluten free. Oh my goodness, they were also so delicious! Most fried shrimp has a very heavy coating so you can’t taste the shrimp but these had a lighter gluten free coating. I will definitely return here when we ate in Front Royal next time.

I do not say this lightly: this was best fried shrimp I’ve ever had. Also the best crabcake and fried catfish that have ever graced my palate. The sides were perfection. Just look at the photos- you can see the perfection.

Family owned- there were three (maybe four) generations behind the counter and we watched them bread and fry the shrimp and cook everything on demand. Nothing is frozen or pre made. The guys were friendly and fun to chat with; felt like you’re at home. This is by far the best soul food seafood restaurant I’ve ever been to, and besides one other place in Front Royal that offers very different fare it’s the best place to get a meal. Please visit this establishment so they stay in business forever. This is the food we all deserve.

Perfection… no-filler crab cakes, juicy fried shrimp, and legit southern sides to clog your arteries for days. My only regret is that I couldn’t try more of their menu. Make TOTM a destination when visiting Shenandoah Nat’l Park.

We got a crab cake, catfish, hush puppies, Mac and cheese, and collards. Everything was insanely good! Like each time we took a bite, my husband and I would look at each other and go “mmhmm”.
The staff was friendly, kitchen was clean, and every single thing was made fresh.
I almost didn’t make it to the crab cake because I was so stuck on the collards.

We will absolutely be back!

The shrimp & catfish were seasoned & cooked to perfection! 👏 and those hush puppies & smoked Mac was next level good 👍 We will definitely be back whenever they’re in the area.

Family owned and home prepared fresh with no filler crabcakes. And they mean it. Great and the only problem is they are notbin the metro area. Go enjoy the ride only to experience a dining experience not soon to be forgotten.

Been there several
times for the crabcakes!
Last time i went i checked website to make sure they were open because I was coming from Winchester. Got there at 11 and sign said not open till 11:30. Went back at 11:30 and was told crabcakes would not be ready for another 30-40 minutes...probably should have updated website. Ended up waiting about an hour and a half. Crabcakes were on point tho!

This was our first time eating here. We were told they were out of crab but Ricky said "I'll take care of ya'll" and he did. The food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend good service good food!

Food is amazing and they aren’t kidding that the crab cake has no fillers ! More crab than I have ever seen in a crab cake! Everything was delicious!

We went to order to go after a busy day. The service was fantastic 😍 We got a shrimp platter, 20 piece shrimp, a catfish po boy, crab cake, and a lobster roll! The food is fantastic Just chatting with the owner and staff was great 👍. We will return again!

We absolutely LOVE the Crab Cakes!!! We've eaten several times at the Front Royal location and at the Food Trucks, and have never been disappointed. Last night we ordered a bunch for delivery for a 50th Birthday party and everyone loved them!! I was very very thankful for the delivery option, since I just had my knee replaced and can't drive yet. Y'all are amazing and we already can't wait for our next visit!!

Excellent crab cakes, hush puppies, fries and coleslaw. I highly recommend this place for dinner.
