This is a great local diner serving a good variety of home cooked meats and vegetables. I enjoyed country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. The baked pineapple casserole is excellent. This is a popular spot with the locals. The desserts looked amazing, but I was too full to try one.
Based on other reviews, while traveling through Galax we stopped for an early dinner. I had a good chopped steak, which was covered in a mushroom gravy with red peppers and onions. The tomato pie was okay, but really sweet, as was also the case for the pineapple dish. Maybe that’s just a southern thing, but I don’t like that much sweetness. My husband ordered a chicken dish, which was fried and served with gravy. We both enjoyed his green beans, as well as the sweet potato....
