Service was horrible, waitresses taking up a table and huddled around it, loudly stating how it was entirely too busy in there. As an experienced waitress it was not anywhere near unrealistically busy. The expos brought our food to our table and we were missing something, the waitress never came back to ask us if everything came out ok or if we needed anything, luckily I was able to flag down a expo again and let her know. I think it was more annoying being beside the “waitress table” but still not be able to obtain any waitresses attention. The food we did receive was great and the cooks have it going on. I think this restaurant could use some serious customer service training and it would be exceptional.
For seventeen dollars, it's the worst pizza, I have ever eaten. It was only twelve inch diameter shoggy very thin and very greasy.
Great food. Great band
We have been going to Creek Bottom for several years when we visit Galax. We stopped this weekend to find the restaurant had just reopened and now had a beautiful renovated bar area. With their new bar area they increased their drink prices. I was changed $11 for an old fashioned and another $9 for Elijah Craig, served with a great value maraschino Cherry! $20 for one Old Fashioned is ridiculous. I’ve paid less in craft cocktail bars and fancy restaurants that were served smoked and presented un glass boxes! I’ll be back, but I’ll never again order any bourbon drink!
Wonderful service and the food was delicious. I had the brisket, my son had a pizza (they have a nice wood fire oven). My wife had the wings. Everything was great and reasonably priced.
Great brews and food!
We vacation here every year and just tried CB for the first time. The food is great, the staff runs hard and is extremely helpful and polite. For the price point there is nothing better in western VA. Come on a night with live music and have a beer....or three.
Love Creek Bottom. All the food is fabulous. We both had the Mac and cheese with bacon and buffalo chicken. So good and a big portion. The best part with the friendly and excellent service by Alanna Davis! She's a big asset to Creek Bottom and always has a smile. Thanks Alanna...we appreciate you. Sheryl and Jeff C.❤️
Just recovered from Helene flooding. It was an amazing feat that involved the entire staff. They are back open, serving great food, great beer & drinks.
10/18/24: I really prefer to leave good reviews for good places. I've been to Creek Bottom about eight or ten times. Today was the first time since the flood of 2024. I've been waiting in hopes of finding something good to say in a review. I go there on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday, mainly for the music. The music varies according to the band of course, and I have seen several good performances and also a few real stinkers.
When the band shows up.
At least 25% of the times I have gone there the band has cancelled, I guess too late for them to update the website or their facebook posts. After the first couple of times I now just leave if there is no band and don't count that as a visit for the purposes of this review. Today must have just been a really bad day for them. The food and service have never been what I would call outstanding - it is just not meant to be a fine dining establishment. Today I ordered a special that they were promoting on facebook minutes before I left home to go there - something resembling a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. When the server brought out my partner's meal she says," oh we're out of that special" so I ordered something else. It came out long after my partner had finished her meal, and she's a slow eater.
Fish sandwich you could squeeze the oil out of the fish and yet somehow it was cold inside. French fries were hardly cooked at all - limp and also cold right out of the kitchen. They must have been running out of pickle spears too, because we hoth got pieces of a pickle spear about an inch and a half long, like they were breaking them into two or three pieces.
And the music... 'Josh and Eddie'. I think I may have seen them here before and if so they were a lot better. Tonight there was something wrong with the sound. The best I can describe it is by saying it was 'muddy' - sounded like they were a hundred miles away and yet really loud. Like they had some kind of processor for the sound that was horribly misadjusted. I feel they were playing and singing well but by the time it came through the sound system it sounded like cha. I couldn't understand the words unless they were playing a song I know. Too bad that this was also the only time I have been there when there was a cover charge for the band (only $5 per person). I guess they need that cover money to help pay for the flood cleanup. I just hope the band got some of it and will use it to improve the sound.
Over all just embarrassingly poor.
Ratings would be worse if I couldn't look back to other hopefully more representative experiences there.

Service sucks pizza is ok
One of my all-time favorites...it never disappoints!!
Very fun. Good food, friendly staff. Had Sunday football on the big screens...
Food was excellent, service not so much..
Don't know our waitresses name but very rude..
My 5 year old grandson dropped his drink, and it was on from then...
If this girl can't deal with the public better than this...
There's other jobs available...
Would have been a 5 but this killed that.
First time here, everyone was so nice especially Jess our server. I got a pizza, the beer was ok, but we live in a craft beer city so we are a bit snobbish about beer. What was really cool is this place is a distillery as well. After our meal we did a spirit tasting with Haley which was very nice and we bought a bottle of the Rye to take back to the cabin. This is a fairly large place with indoor and outdoor seating. Wide variety of menu items to choose from.
