The Galax Smokehouse Reviews
I work here, so I’m a little partial, but ALOT of our visitors/travelers from out of town say that we’re better than their favorite BBQ place back home! (The ultimate compliment) Our ribs fall off the bone and you can’t beat the prices on our lunch specials especially. I came here to post pics of the menu in the reviews, but just had to share that. :) Come on in and see for yourself!
All of the food was delish, and staff were very knowledgeable and informative about menu items and sauces. Cool place - loved the pin map. Ashley was an amazing server and Anthony, while not our server, was very personable. We totally enjoyed our experience. A must do if you are in the area. ~ new fans from Missouri and Kansas 💜
Never fails to satisfy! I live in Mount Airy, NC but when I’m in the mood for this place I do not hesitate to drive here one bit. I LOVE this place. I have came here over the years with friends/ family and by myself at times too. The food is amazing. The Galax Smokehouse is a charming barbecue joint that serves up delicious meals. The waitstaff are enthusiastic and knowledgeable, happy to guide diners to their favorite dishes. The menu offers a range of options, including brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and mac 'n cheese. The brisket is a standout, with a tender texture and four regional sauces to choose from. The pulled pork platter is awesome, and the ribs fall off the bone. The lunch specials are a great deal. Sides like corn fritters and flavorful fried potatoes are outstanding. The hush puppies are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a hint of onion flavor. The banana pudding is a must-try, with a creamy banana flavor, soft vanilla wafers, and a swirl of whipped cream. The service is attentive and friendly, with drinks served promptly and food arriving quickly. The restaurant has a smoky smell inside, but the atmosphere is nice. Many visitors say it’s better than their favorite BBQ place back home. The pulled pork and brisket were wonderful, and the choices of sauces has something for everyone. The food was tasty, and the busy waitstaff was really good, working hard. The banana pudding dessert was a nice way to wrap up the meal. The staff were accommodating, helping make sure that visitors with celiacs could eat there safely. They even made some gluten-free banana pudding. Fabulous experience all around.
