We always enjoy a stop here on our way home. The pulled pork with Alabama white sauce is delicious 😋 Smoked chicken platter with smoked mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and hush puppies were beyond tasty. Be sure to leave room for homemade banana pudding. If we lived closer, we would be regulars. The staff will make feel like family.

The food was pretty good and the price was great. Portions were good sized. The place could use a good cleaning. The staff seem a little overwhelmed.
Adorable decor and amazing service to go along with the excellent food. We all had BBQ pork plates and tried the baked beans, green beans, and fried potatoes for sides. All were excellent and the sauces were fabulous as well. The banana pudding dessert was a nice way to wrap up the meal. The staff were so accommodating helping make sure that our daughter with celiacs could eat there safely. They even made her some gluten free banana pudding by not including any cookies in the mix (and no cross contamination). Fabulous experience all around here and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for good BBQ in the area.

Food is great, but the service is terrible. My 84yo mother almost choked on her BBQ sandwich, because she couldn’t get a refill on her beverage. I even asked the lady at the Pig Pub, and she said the coffee was at the front of the restaurant and she would get it. 30 minutes later, we were still waiting. Having spent a very successful career in sales, I’ve come to learn that service is king. Hopefully, the Galax Smokehouse improves in this area.

We came to town for the smoke on the mountain festival, but didn't realize you can't buy from the competitors!!! So we stopped in here for lunch. It was busy! Our food was tasty, and the busy waitstaff was really good, they were working hard! I got a brisket topped baked potato, my son a pulled chicken sandwich, my husband a rib combo platter. I even got Brunswick stew to go. I would go back!
Food is delicious! Cute place & great atmosphere. The pulled pork and brisket was wonderful & the choices of sauces has something for everyone. This was our 3rd visit & they are consistently on point. Our server Anthony has been there each time and makes the whole experience even better! Listen to his suggestions! He knows his bbq and sides! Give this place a try if you are craving delicious bbq. You will not be disappointed!

Galax Smokehouse is a family favorite. We make sure to visit whenever we’re in town. Great food and great service. If you’re looking for an excellent server and a good laugh, I recommend you ask for Anthony. He’s the best!

I work here, so I’m a little partial, but ALOT of our visitors/travelers from out of town say that we’re better than their favorite BBQ place back home! (The ultimate compliment) Our ribs fall off the bone and you can’t beat the prices on our lunch specials especially. I came here to post pics of the menu in the reviews, but just had to share that. :) Come on in and see for yourself!

Had supper here the other evenin’ and let me tell ya, the hospitality, service, and grub were all flat-out outstanding. Soon as we stepped through the door, Anthony greeted us with a big ol’ grin and slung us up against the wall (in the best way) for a good time of piggin’ out on some mighty fine BBQ. His quick wit and funny bone set the tone for a downright enjoyable meal. Ms. Judy come by and gave us a little personal history lesson—sweet as a peach and full of charm. Stephanie hollered a howdy from behind the counter, and Chris was back there cookin’, slicin’, and choppin’ away in that open-air kitchen, servin’ up some real tasty vittles. We went with the brisket plates—baked beans, coleslaw, green beans, and them crispy corn nuggets. Tossed in a half rack of ribs on the side, which came with more corn nuggets and some hush puppies that’ll make ya wanna slap your granny. My pick of the BBQ sauces was that sweet smoky one—hit the spot just right. Meats were cooked to perfection with a big ol’ smoky flavor that didn’t need no fancy dressin’ up. The décor? Lord have mercy—it’s a mix of Galax history and a whole mess of pig knickknacks that'll tickle your funny bone. And don’t even get me started on the banana puddin’—that was the cherry on top of a mighty fine meal. Big thanks to the Smokehouse crew for a memorable time. We’ll be back, sure as shootin’. Bet yer bottom dolla on dat!
