Adorable decor and amazing service to go along with the excellent food. We all had BBQ pork plates and tried the baked beans, green beans, and fried potatoes for sides. All were excellent and the sauces were fabulous as well. The banana pudding dessert was a nice way to wrap up the meal. The staff were so accommodating helping make sure that our daughter with celiacs could eat there safely. They even made her some gluten free banana pudding by not including any cookies in the mix (and no cross contamination). Fabulous experience all around here and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for good BBQ in the area.

Food is great, but the service is terrible. My 84yo mother almost choked on her BBQ sandwich, because she couldn’t get a refill on her beverage. I even asked the lady at the Pig Pub, and she said the coffee was at the front of the restaurant and she would get it. 30 minutes later, we were still waiting. Having spent a very successful career in sales, I’ve come to learn that service is king. Hopefully, the Galax Smokehouse improves in this area.

We came to town for the smoke on the mountain festival, but didn't realize you can't buy from the competitors!!! So we stopped in here for lunch. It was busy! Our food was tasty, and the busy waitstaff was really good, they were working hard! I got a brisket topped baked potato, my son a pulled chicken sandwich, my husband a rib combo platter. I even got Brunswick stew to go. I would go back!

This was our 3rd visit & they are consistently on point. Our server Anthony has been there each time and makes the whole experience even better! Listen to his suggestions! He knows his bbq and sides! I work here, so I’m a little partial, but ALOT of our visitors/travelers from out of town say that we’re better than their favorite BBQ place back home! (The ultimate compliment) Our ribs fall off the bone and you can’t beat the prices on our lunch specials especially. I came here to post pics of the menu in the reviews, but just had to share that. :) Come on in and see for yourself!

Pulled pork was awesome. Corn fritters were really good. Nice little restaurant. Very friendly staff. It was a little smokey inside. Smelled good, but if you have respiratory problems, you might want to peek inside before committing. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.

We got pork loin and brisket platters. Great loin, ok brisket. Outstanding sides. However, the sauces were amazing! Loved the sweet & sour and the mustard especially.
The service was really friendly and helpful by everyone. We'll be back when in the area.

The portions are getting pretty much like a Childs menu. We ordered slaw and Mac and cheese as sides, it wasn't much more than a tablespoon of each. The meat was good, but dry. Service ok.

Never fails to satisfy! I live in Mount Airy, NC but when I’m in the mood for this place I do not hesitate to drive here one bit. I LOVE this place. I have came here over the years with friends/ family and by myself at times too. The food is amazing. The atmosphere especially in the summer months are fantastic most of the times the doors are opened to the street side and it’s just something about small town Galax that is just a great atmosphere to be in. Some times there are car shows downtown and you get to see them go by and hear and see the sights and sounds of that as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Galax Smokehouse if you are in the area. Nice staff over the years. I do appreciate you all serving the community over the years. You guys do an awesome job!
