Great food and great service! Our server, Anthony was very helpful and had great suggestions regarding what to order. The pulled pork and sides were great, and the ribs were meaty and fall-off-the bone tender. The sauces are great ( we bought a couple to take home). We’ll be back the next time we’re in Galax.
We had the BEST dinner at The Galax Smokehouse! From the moment we walked in, we loved the chill, laid-back vibe. The food was absolutely amazing, and our waiter was such a cool dude!
He even surprised me with a little after dinner treat made from his own special recipe. It was such a thoughtful and fun touch and just made an already great experience even better!

The ribs were tasty, but the wait was longer than at any other restaurant I’ve visited so far. Perhaps having additional staff during peak hours would help, though I’ll leave that decision to the restaurant. Our waiter, however, was very friendly and professional, which certainly helped.
What really surprised me—and something I don’t recall seeing mentioned in other reviews—was being charged $3 for two glasses of tap water....
