This is likely the best BBQ we have ever had. We highly recommend it! We will happily drive the 35 minutes from Johnson City any time we are in town just to eat at Kane St Smokehouse. We had brisket and pulled pork sandwiches with mac & cheese and the best baked beans ever! All of the staff were so friendly and sweet. Josh, the owner, stopped at our table to greet us, chat, and thank us for stopping. Now y’all, let me tell you—we live in BBQ country and drive nearly two hours (passing plenty of other places) just to eat at Kane’s Street Smokehouse, and I’d do it again tomorrow!
This southern girl grew up on BBQ before I could even spell it, and Kane’s is some of the best I’ve ever had—hands down! Around here, it ain’t enough just to have good BBQ; you’ve got to master the sides and the sauce, and Lord have mercy, they sure have!
All the sauces are winners, but that Original and Sweet Heat have my heart. Every bite of meat is smoky perfection, but believe it or not, I’ll throw down over the chicken and turkey—so juicy you could swear they were just carved fresh off the smoker.
Now let’s talk sides, because y’all know that’s where the soul of a BBQ meal lives! The corn casserole? Out of this world—just a tiny lil’ kick, not spicy, but enough to make your taste buds dance. The potato salad and pickles (yes, pickles!) are spot-on too. Who knew pickles could steal the show at a BBQ joint?
And of course, they finish strong with banana pudding—because no true southern BBQ meal is complete without it.
On top of all that deliciousness, the customer service is top notch! Every single time we visit, the folks at Kane’s are friendly, welcoming, and more than happy to make suggestions or help you order. You feel like family the minute you walk through the door.
