First time going to a vegan restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. The staff was very friendly and patiently answered my questions about the menu and options. I ended up with build your own bowl option. The portion was enough for me. Their queso and lemon-garlic aioli sauce are very good. I will be back to try other menu items.

Amazing food and lovely service. The chicken-fried tofu plate with mac and cheese and greens was the star: perfect flavor and texture for the tofu's crust, and the mac and cheese was so creamy and well seasoned. Very nice staff, mission, and message.

Did someone say healthy?! 🤣 i cannot get over the deep home-cooked southern feel to that meatloaf plate. It's so good that even meat-eaters don't know that it's vegan. I happen to be the only vegan in the family, and it pleasantly fooled the entire family. The mashed red potatoes are 🔥, the Brussels on POINT, and do not pass on the Mac and cheese. That tofu pesto sando was flavorful and filling and 1000% worth the mess. Please, go in. Talk with the staff. Dine-in and enjoy the vibe with some great food!
I ordered delivery for this when I was getting a tattoo in Richmond. I wasn't able to eat until after my tattoo and it was STILL so delicious. It's a good thing I don't live closer or I'd be here every day!!

We tried this place for the first time today ... The food is absolutely off the chain ! I had the vegan meatloaf and Mac & cheese ! The staff was super friendly! The only thing wrong with this place is that it's not closer to Hampton 😭

The staff was very friendly, there was a large variety of options and the location was clean. I would absolutely go again.
This restaurant has such a wonderful and welcoming vibe. They have a free library in the back! We are from Florida and vegan options in this neck of the woods are slim. This little detour was well worth our time. We had the special, which was a crunchwrap and we also ordered the neatloaf sandwich. So tasty. This is comfort food and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! Updated from previous review on 2025-06-27

As a meat eater - gone vegetarian - gone back to meat eater - I can say that this place is insane. I didn’t have high hopes and went in with the mindset of ‘try everything once’. We got the Sloppy Mac and the Po’ Girl (and Mac n’ cheese/ Brussels) and I was in hog heaven. Portions were massive, filling, and decently priced - which is a BIG ask with health-oriented and diet friendly places. The Sloppy Mac was good - I could tell it was beef alternative just because I’m familiar with it, but I’m not sure you’d be able to tell if you weren’t. It actually had flavor and it was filling. However, the Po’ Girl is a whole different experience. Fried hearts of palm can seem scary to most, but the coating and fry on them is next level. If I hadn’t known and you told me it was chicken, I would have believed you. A lot of the flavor is from the coating. The coating is kind of spicy and savory, and it’s extra crunchy. The sauce had good flavor, the slaw, the onions - it all just worked. Not to mention, half the burrito was the size of my face. The Mac and cheese had a savory almost bacon-like flavor and the balsamic brussels were very good too. Staff was extremely sweet too. This vegan place far outweighs the regular restaurants in my area. I’d drive the two hours to go back here any day.

As a hybrid. This place really makes its
Ez to replace meat meals. The fried tofu…the feast and meatloaf. Hella dank. The fries and nachos are killer. The staff is super friendly and just a chill vibe. If you’re looking for something different try em out

Best Vegan restaurant in RVA! Beautiful space, beautiful people, delicious food! We love everything about Devils Lettuce.
Came here on lunch break and got the killer tofu toastie as suggested by the staff. It was a 7/10. The flavor wasn't awful, just a little messy. I didn't quite feel satisfied after eating it (I think I'm too much of an omnivore to fully appreciate this place). On a more positive note, the service was excellent, they have some positive personalities running the front counter. Additionally they have a tiny library in the back which I thought was awesome! All in all, this place isn't exactly my cup of tea but if you're vegan, I would strongly recommend this option. If you're a typical omnivore such as myself, an open mind might not be such a bad thing (especially when there's a bakery next door as a backup plan).

Good food with a fun, cheeky theme. I’m a huge fan of their special menu/themed days. Taco Bell takeover - hell yes! 🌮
