The wine and Girl Scout Cookie flights were a fun idea and very well paired, however, the service was inexcusable. The tasting room attendant checking us out was unnecessarily rude, and made our visit uncomfortable from the time we arrived. I tried to brush it off and enjoy the experience, but even upon exiting she abrasively grabbed the plate out of my hands when trying to return the flight without any response. It seemed very off-putting, especially when she treated other guests in a nice and friendly manner.

The one star is for the attitude of the woman who rung us up. She was immediately aggressive, unhelpful and condescending. Very unpleasant/uncomfortable first time experience for such a cute concept.

Staff are friendly and helpful. We went with a preselected red flight and hand picked white flight. All wines were excellent. We selected a bottle for ourselves and shipped 3 to friends

This is one of my favorite wineries. Unfortunately I do not get to visit as much a I wood like. Friendly helpful staff. The wine is unparalleled as far as I'm concerned.

Lovely winery that’s close by. I’m more of a red drinker and liked the Merlot the best. The German white is good as well

Stopped here overnight with Harvest Hosts. Lucky to pop in just as they were closing. Beautifully set off the road and the bar staff were kind to allow some tasting beyond the stated times. We ended up with a sweet bottle of Real Santa Red. We also liked the Hanover Red blend. Beautiful place to sit and relax and share a bottle, plus some availble snack plates.

This winery is absolutely wonderful. I have had the good fortune to enjoy my trips to James River Cellars Winery for over 15 years and I hope for many more triumphant returns. They truly have something for everyone at this winery. It's amazing as you turn off of Route one and enter another world where you can relax, turn off the stress and enjoy fine wine. The staff is most welcoming to boot.

Wonderful stay at their Harvest Host. The wine was superb. Had a live band that night. Golf range next door. Incredible sandwich place next door. Amazing whole made Virginia country menu. Very nice. Will return!

I have visited this winery several times and have enjoyed my visits……this time not so much. I visited this winery on 09/03/3023. The older gentleman behind the counter was extremely grumpy. I asked if the glasses that were given out in the front were for sampling wines from different wineries and he said “no” in a grumpy tone. He presented the wine list with an attitude and I felt rushed trying to decide which bottle of wine I wanted to purchase. I bought a bottle to drink outside with my daughter, whom he was rude to as well. He didn’t offer a bucket with ice to keep the wine cool. I went outside to find a table and came back in to see if someone would give me a bucket of ice. I also decided to purchase a wine slushy, which was $16.00! Yikes! The lady behind the counter that was helping me was also rude. The wine slushy was a waste of money! Couldn’t taste the wine. The lady also asked if I wanted an extra shot of wine for a charge. Why do I need that? Maybe because I wasn’t going to taste the wine in the slushy? I asked for a bucket with ice and she stated they were out. A friendlier employee spoke up behind the counter and stated she could get a bucket of ice, if I could wait for 2 minutes or so. I agreed. I have never been to a winery where the employees were rude. I will never come back.

My family and I attended an event at the winery recently. I fell in love with the Vidal Blanc- pairs nicely with a summer evening. Once we grabbed a bottle, we migrated to the outside covered patio. It's a huge addition to the winery and makes you feel like you can escape...it's GORGEOUS! The setup with the food trucks, the shade to enjoy the delicious wine outdoors, and the awesome staff make this a top spot in my books!

This place is an eye sore. Right next to a sports complex. The customer service today was awful. The tasting/flight was served in a white plastic medicine cup. They serve a wine called a Chardonel. Never going back awful service.
