We visited Tiki Par MPM and ordered the Tom Yum soup, steak, salad, and crab. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet our expectations.
The steak was extremely tough—so stiff that we couldn’t even chew it properly. It was hard and unpleasant to eat.
The crab was overly sweet and didn’t taste fresh. It lacked balance and definitely could have been prepared better.
The Tom Yum soup had a strong, unpleasant smell and didn’t taste good either. It was quite disappointing.
The salad was just average—nothing special, and certainly not something I’d return for.
The only saving grace was the service, which was friendly and attentive, and the cocktail, which was well made.
I’m giving 2 stars solely because of those two aspects. Otherwise, the food itself was not enjoyable.
I usually don’t write bad reviews, but this experience honestly made me angry—I feel like I wasted my money. This will be the first and last time I go there for food

If you just want to alcoholic drinks it would be good but I don’t really recommend to eat here , foods don’t taste like what you’re thinking at least what I expected … very sweet even the sauce. If you like sweetness… okay that’s your place to go but otherwise it’s not a good choice…

I'm writing this review with a heavy heart, as the potential of this bar was completely overshadowed by a series of truly unacceptable events. I had high hopes for a fun night out, but what I witnessed was an unprofessional and frankly, bizarre display of behavior from the staff.
The evening started on a strange note and went downhill from there. The two bartenders on duty appeared to be drunk. One of them actually flashed the guests at the bar, which was shocking and completely inappropriate. This same bartender later abandoned their post for a solid half hour to sit and chat with some married guests at a table, leaving the bar unattended.
To make matters worse, one of the barbacks decided it was a good idea to dump a full bar mat of dirty water directly onto the bar. This disgusting mess spilled everywhere, including all over my lap. It was a moment that perfectly encapsulated the complete lack of care and professionalism on display.
The one silver lining in this chaotic mess was a barback named Eugene. He was a total rockstar. Despite the unprofessionalism of his colleagues, Eugene was working tirelessly, cleaning up spills, restocking, and doing everything he could to keep the place running. He was attentive and seemed genuinely committed to his job. He deserves to be recognized for his hard work and should probably be given a promotion.
This bar has a serious management problem. The unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the bartenders made for a truly terrible experience. If not for Eugene, this would have been a complete wash. I hope management takes swift action to address these issues.

MPM Tiki Bar is one of my favorite places to eat in Short Pump. The food is consistently excellent—I usually order the red curry or drunken noodles with beef, and they always hit the mark. Oddly enough, the best wings I’ve ever had were here. Nice little crunch on the outside, lots of amazing meat inside. The drinks are great too, but I always go for the Miss Stephanie. It’s not listed on the menu, but they know how to make it, and it never lets me down.
JoJo is probably the friendliest person in all of Richmond. He’s welcoming, fast, and makes every visit better. I’ve driven 30 minutes across the river just to eat here, and it’s always worth it. Every friend I’ve brought ends up loving it and wanting to come back. Highly recommend.

There are some very good servers at this place, but also some bad ones. If you happen to get an arrogant server, it can ruin the experience. This time, our waiter had an attitude, and it was not a pleasant experience. The food also wasn't as good as it used to be.

I got thrown out of the bar onto the concrete.. after doing nothing wrong … if the owner checked the cameras that employee would be fired immediately, or i should be able to sue for so much. absolutely insane thing that happened to me. this bar is sufficient for alcoholic drinks but just remember they can kick you out and throw you to the ground for absolutely no reason….

Start with the fried wontons—crispy on the outside, juicy pork filling inside. Dip the crispy, juicy wonton into their special brown sauce—rich, slightly sweet and tart, with that deep fish sauce umami and just a touch of heat. I couldn’t stop dipping! It felt like a street food memory brought to life.
Next the Pad Thai—we picked the pork, and the moment it arrived, that smoky aroma told me it had been kissed by a hot wok, just the way real street food should be. You can taste the fish sauce, slight tanginess, and a perfect balance of flavor in every bite. The noodles were slick, bouncy, and soaked with sauce—absolutely addictive. My tongue didn’t want to stop smacking.
The grilled peach salad was a fresh surprise—sweet grilled peaches, creamy blue cheese, crunchy candied pecans, and tangy balsamic dressing. Light but full of personality. Every bite felt like freshness and balance.
And the drinks? Wow.
The Bourbon Street cocktail was refreshing and herbal—like mint or basil—without any bitterness. Smooth, cool, and so easy to sip. Then the Marinda cocktail—a beautiful blend of sweet and tart, with a warm nutmeg finish that brought me straight back to flavors of Asia. It was unique, comforting, and honestly unforgettable.
And don’t forget the buffalo wings. Let’s just say they come with a warning: prepare for a volcano in your mouth. 🔥
Even more thankful to have Tanya as our server. First, she is so in tune with everything on the menu. Then, She brought life to our food and drinks with her energy and positive attitude. This is what a food and bar experience should be—alive in every bite, every cocktail, and every moment. People like Tanya make dinner experience to another level. Thank you Tanya.

Visited MPM on a Saturday for karaoke with family during our family reunion and we all had a GREAT time! Customer service was a 10/10 before we even arrived. We called to confirm karaoke was still on and the staff on the phone were very nice and informative. Once we got there Brian (new security) at the door was amazing and we knew we were in for a good time. Food was good and came out quick. We tried Thai Coffee for the first time and we will definitely be back to get it again!!! Karaoke was the icing on the cake. We didn’t even want to leave. 100/10 experience and we’ll be back for sure!
