I have tried the buffet at Persis and I felt it was worth every dollar. There were handful of vegetarian options and non vegetarian options for entrees and appetizers.
More importantly, I have never seen Thalapakattu Mutton biryani in buffet menu in USA. All the dishes were very good in buffet. Very few dishes weren’t frequently refilled but most of them were quickly refilled during buffet hours.
Although we felt like the service could have been better and furniture could have been refurnished from the old restaurant. The high chair in the restaurant was in very bad shape. I wish the furniture in the restaurant was upgraded and the service was better alongside food.

We went for lunch buffet on Sunday. Considering the few veg options/dishes and even in those, some of them are bland in taste, we felt it's not worth the price for vegetarians!
Vegetarian options: Buffet Veg Menu: Spinach dal, Palak paneer, mini uthappam, condiments, potato fritters, jackfruit biryani, carrot halwa

Buffet was reasonably priced and the food was fresh and yum. Everything tasted different from regular restaurant style and authentic Indian. Chicken Biryani was the cherry topping above all.

Food was ok , but as soon as you enter the restaurant there is a really strong smell . They are burning scented sticks to make the place smell fresh but it’s super strong that made my nostrils burn. The wait staff never check on you after placing your food in front of you. We were never asked if we wanted anything for drink beside water .

Been ordering from this restaurant and food has been good. Ordered 3 schezwan fried rice and dosas today and got regular fried rice. It was very salty, extra spicy one was very peppery, and dosas were burnt. Disappointed ?

Stopped by after a shopping trip for lunch, and was happily surprised by the South Indian street food options on the menu! Enjoyed my first dosa (amazing!), onion pakura, corn manchuria, and a vegetable saag dish that was wonderful!! Highly recommend, and will definitely be returning when I'm in Richmond!

We ordered Goat Biryani, Veg Biryani and Chicken fried rice. Goat Biryani was full of masala and bone pieces but no biryani at all. Chicken fried rice was smelling as it was half cooked and taste was very bad. Veg biryani was also not good, it was pretty dry and full of masala. Worst biriyani experience ever in Richmond. I would never suggest this place to anyone.
