I have not been to Peter Chang's Short Pump in a while and decided to get dinner takeout. We ordered the Gen Tao's Chicken and the Bang Bang Shrimp. The shrimp was too sweet but still semi enjoyed. The GT Chicken was awful. The chicken was overcooked, tough, and stringy. Not sure who is cooking now but the food quality and oversite is just not there like it was when they first opened. Guess I will have to go to PF Chang's now for much better Chinese food.

The food was absolutely delicious!! The Mongolian Beef and pork fried dumplings (that’s sauce!! Amazing!!) were one of the best I ever had. Can’t wait to go back! The service was great too…all around great experience!
I love that this is authentic.

Food is great as always, but there was a line for online pickup. I was first, but they assisted the two people behind me before even acknowledging me. For whatever reason they thought I was with a food delivery service company. I understand it was busy and I don’t except much from customer service if I’m just picking something up, but my experience was unpleasant.
The food WAS really good but sadly they are closed permanently

A few years ago this was absolutely 💯 the best Chinese food in Central Virginia. Now unfortunately it's slightly above average 😕. Seems like it's running on past nostalgia. What happened to the quality and flavors 🤔. Sad 😔

We went for a friend's birthday dinner to the Short Pump location. Loved all the different apps we ordered. I really enjoyed the steamed dumplings, scallion pancake and chicken lettuce wraps. My meal, mapo tofu, was disappointing and it wasn't what I was looking for. Many of the folks in our party weren't satisfied with their meals for one reason or another. Someone ordered pork belly, but it was weirdly jiggly and not crispy. Another's meal was overpowering with chili powder, but not spicy tasting. For the money we spent per person, we all decided our local Chinese place would have tasted better and been a better choice. Sadly, we will not be back.

We walked into the restaurant at around 8:45 PM, thinking we had plenty of time since their website said they closed at 9:30. But from the moment we sat down, it felt like we weren’t really welcome. If someone had just let us know upfront that they were closing soon, we would’ve happily gone somewhere else.
Instead, we were seated, ordered our food, and just as we started eating, the manager came over and started rushing us to leave—right at 9:30. The way it was handled felt really off. Our server was genuinely kind and did their best, but the manager was unnecessarily rude and kept giving us these uncomfortable looks, like we didn’t belong there.
Honestly, the whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths—not because of the food, but because of how we were treated. It felt personal, and that’s not something you expect when you’re just out for a meal. If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming place to eat, I’d recommend going somewhere else. This place made us feel like we weren’t wanted, and no one should have to feel that way.
This is by far the best Chinese food in town! This is a must visit and if you dine in the staff is super friendly and service is very good!

their food used to be a 10/10. But they have since lost their flavor. I can't even get the numbness from the sichuan peppercorn anymore. Their food is still good just not lived up to the standard they set before.
