For years now the Shady Grove Coffeehouse has featured a seasonal schedule of folk & semi-folk musicians. Some well known acts, Gordon Bok, Jody Stecher & Kate Brislin & many local & regional ones...all events reasonably priced for the average Joe. Housed in the Unitarian Universalist Church in Glen Allen this is a relaxing venue for all who come...the sound system is usually top notch with plenty of seating...Cookies, cakes, lite refreshments & of course plenty of Java is available...highly recommend. A true asset to the community.

Perfect performance venue with the best audience on the planet.
I don't believe they welcome ALL people. I called about an upcoming performance once before, and I was not comfortable with the interaction I received on the phone.

Whenever it’s possible to be here for the great musicians in this intimate, quiet setting - be here! I’m always SO glad when I make the effort to come & really listen. I also love seeing the special, friendly people who work to make it happen. There is always delicious homemade food & coffee at the break, too. Thanks for continuing to share your great love for live, special music!!!
This is one of these little, kinda outta the way venues that host great music in an intimate setting. The sound system is superb which is so important when the artists play acoustical music. The audience is is close proximity to the artists resulting in a vibe of a gathering of good friends.
