Interestingly, I cannot give an opinion on the food as my attempt to place a take out order tonight was denied because I was told on the phone it was too late to order (20 min before close). So thankfully Great Wall happily accomodated a quick and easy $200 take out order, which was delicious btw and as I passed No 1 on the way home they were still open. So, if you love delicious Genuine Chinese cuisine with the traditional ethic and hospitality service diligence, remember my review, same hours of operation but Im its Great Wall for me going forward.

The interior is a bit on the shabby end and looks disheveled and those working it are not dressed to work in the traditional sense, but this is a case of looks being deceiving and when it comes down to it, all I care about for takeout is the product. The food is delicious and the proportions are well represented of most of the pricing, if not a tad on the more expensive side. My order was fulfilled with impressive expediency. Will surely be returning.

Ordered 50$ worth of food ..its was just ok and overpriced. The guy that takes the order is not much with customer service skills ..im.short and he left my food behind the counter ..I was unable to reach it . I said is that mh food ? I cant reach it the other guy was nice and handed it to me . Gave them.a try first and last time.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for about 30 years. I knew the people watched their children grow and the food was always great. Just visited 09/29/2026, the food was disgusting, the chicken fried rice had no vegetables and chicken was boiled not fried , no taste, the house special lomein was cold , no sauce, sticky, a tasteless, the salt and pepper shrimp, one of their signature meals and one of the most expensive was doughy, cold, and the tempura was pasty. I spent over $60 for that meal, I can guarantee it won’t ever happen again and I will inform anyone who inquires about food in Gloucester to definitely not go there.

Cannot comment on atmosphere as this was a take out order but all the food lacked flavor. The wonton soup just tastes like hot water, the beef sticks were tender but no flavor. Good shape and crunch to the crab Rangoon but again no flavor on the filling just tastes like melted cream cheese.

My shrimp wasn't cooked properly. Very mushy. My mixed vegetables were cooked like with no Chinese gravy. Like water and oil. Maybe forgot gravy. In sauce. Very dirty inside. Very messy inside. My food was inedible. Threw in woods along with my daughters shrimp and broccoli. Her shrimp was must too. 26.00 down the toilet. I'll never go there again.

This was the worst food I've ever eaten. I ordered the chicken and rice soup. It seems like they boiled chicken strips in water and then added some rice. Very bland. The fried rice seems like they just added some yellow/brown food coloring to plain white rice. The steamed dumplings were too doughy and the filling wasn't seasoned well.
Do not recommend. The food did not taste good and had a unique texture.

I have been going to this location for approximately 12 years. The food has always been GREAT. However, lastnight it was NASTY. All the things I have always ordered have changed. No flavor, the fried stuff tasted like old grease. Very disappointed and sad.

Do not door dash them. If its not on the menu and you want to edit it.. it wont be. They will tell you its good and it won’t be. I dont care if you do put the edit to your order in the notes. They literally told me to put it in the notes. So i did.. even follow up called which i should not have to do.. Apparently they do not read them. Great wall it is. I have had enough of there carelessness. They place really dont care at all
