Lowry's is a neat little roadside crab shack, and our meals were delicious with good portions. During certain days and hours, you order inside, and they bring your food to your table. They had a few varieties of fish, cooked how you want it. The fried cod was inexpensive and good. With 2 Hush Puppies and 2 sides, I think it was $13 or so. 1/2 lbs. of scallops with Hush Puppies and 2 sides was about $24. The scallops and all the sides were very good. The outside seating is really neat in good weather, and there's an outside sink to wash your hands and face, if needed. We didn't check out the inside seating. This was our first time there, and we'll be returning when we're in the mood for good seafood at an informal restaurant.

I heard this place had the best fried chicken around and immediately drove to check it out. I was not disappointed. Perfectly seasoned, super crispy skin, moist but not greasy. Also tried the fried shrimp. Either by itself would have made the 20 minute drive a success.

Fist time picking up blue crab from Lowrys and we will be back! Male Mediums were $35/dozen ** of course subject to change, for such an awesome price I ordered 2 dozen. The owner had them seasoned well and ready to go with drawn butter by the time I arrived. We did this order to go but did see tables out front and perhaps thru the gate in the back for dining in. If you love crabs as much as I do then you know they are hard to find in this area. Consider Lowrys! They were delicious & you're supporting this small local business!!

I grew up going to “ fish camps” in NC so I was thrilled to be introduced to Lowry’s when I visited family here and then moved here last year. I feel like I am stepping back in time with the unique atmosphere at the restaurant and the delicious food.
They also offer an amazing variety of choices on the menu. Their potato salad and broccoli salad are like your mother’s.
Your stress level will lower as you drive down the country road into Hamilton and pull into a restaurant worth coming back to again and again.

I ordered a half dozen of the medium blue crabs and let me just say, they were super meaty and delicious!! You have the option of 3 levels of old bay seasoning and I got the most seasoning, which was perfect! I also ordered a dozen oysters and hush puppies. Oysters were great! The hush puppies were the best I’ve ever had! Crispy and perfect softness you’d expect from homemade hush puppies!! I definitely recommend this place!

We’d heard the hype about the fried chicken, so we ordered an 8-piece, no sides, to see for ourselves. We had to take some home because there wasn’t a single dish we wouldn’t order again. The seafood was extraordinarily fresh and delectable, and the fried chicken is as comforting and crave-worthy as my mom’s and grandmother’s—high praise from a tough critic. Come early or be prepared to wait, but trust me: it’s absolutely worth it.

It’s totally just a fun dive. Eat outside when the weather is pretty. I go here for fried chicken and hush puppies. This time I added a salad, Mac-n-cheese and green beans with ham. Nothing is absolutely mind-blowing, but it’s really good and hot!!

Absolutely love this place. It was my first time visit and it was really worthwhile to have a reservation placed, and an order for steamed Blue Crabs already placed in advance. The entire team that works there, it is so obvious that they take pride in the best customer service and offering high-quality items on the menu. A very relaxing and down home inside restaurant, I wasn't able to enjoy the outside table seating due to a rainstorm, but the inside is extremely charming and it still feels like you have your own private space. Every time I come to Maryland I will plan to go there, I arrived there from Florida and went straight there from the airport and it was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Great little seafood joint! They do a good job on the standard steamed and fried offerings, and the hush puppies are classic. The shrimp roll is delicious, and not overdressed. Also tried the soft shell crab, and it was excellent-- tender and perfectly seasoned and breaded.

We hadn't been here in a few years, but the ordering system changed. You go into the front room, order off a menu board and then go into another section to sit.. or you can sit outside if the weather is nice. Now for the food. It is very generous. The crab legs are bigger than what you'd get in a store. And the shrimp are large and plentiful. We ended up taking a lot home and eating seafood for several more meals! The fries are delicious, the onion rings are tempura style, not bread crumbs and the hush puppies are firm and delicious. If I had to have any complaints it's that they only give you one thing of melted butter... They will give you more if you ask. And the other is trivial, but having grown up on Old Bay seasoning for seafood, their substitute, while ok, is not really a good replacement. I recommend that you bring your own Old Bay if this is a deal killer.
