Update; the business is now closed and the place is now for lease.Specifically went back to get the homemade choc.chip cookies only to find out I paid $1.50 for less than half the size of the cookie that they used to have ...not to mention half the taste. When I asked the girl about it I was told that they switch brands due to a storage because the other cookies were taking up too much room in the case. Additionally their tea cups are TOO SMALL. They should be twice the size because their tea bags are potent. How many times do I have to discard my tea because it doesn't contain enough water which makes it bitter. The only reason I gave three stars is because I did try the lemon blueberry muffin which was great todayand the mango tea today with ( loads of sugar... Five packets to be exact and it turned out palatable)Please get it together! I want to support this business but I'm not going to keep wasting money

Nestled in the Phoebus area it’s definitely a gem among gems. Date night or Night Cap. It’s a nice spot to grab a bite to eat and or have a few drinks while playing one of many table games. Not feeling a game unless it’s on the flat screen? Not a problem. Grab your drink and relax in the lounge area and watch whatever is playing on one of the big screens, or heck out the various historical facts post throughout the place. I do recommend this gem. If this post is helpful; please tap thumbs up. Thanks. Oh and one more thing. Ask for the bartender Tiffany and try the J.W. aka Just Wonderful. It’s a drink she mixed up specifically for my table (let her know you heard about it from a post). I asked for a little extra wonderful in my glass lol, and it was JUST WONDERFUL!! Cheers??

Not only are the crafted beers delicious and expertly made, but the atmosphere is truly special. The decor consists of fascinating black history photos and information that really adds to the overall vibe of the place. It's inspiring to see the first black-owned brewery in Hampton celebrating and showcasing black culture and history in such a meaningful way. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making for a welcoming and inclusive environment. Whether you're a beer enthusiast or just looking for a great place to hang out with friends and family, 1865 Brewing Company is definitely worth a visit.

Awesome place with good beers and a fun atmosphere. Outdoor seating area has a place for live music and is pet friendly. Really enjoyed the Freedom Lager. Free parking out front. Bring your friends and have a chill night inside or out. Could be a good spot to start or finish a bachelor/bachelorette party.

Me and a few frat brothers stopped in to support. I tried a flight of the choco-cherry stout, all aboard porter, trusty apple saison, and the new mango sour. My favorite was the stout. I think the mango sour would be great in the summer. The spot is nice and easy to get to. The servers are friendly and they have various events on the calendar.
Coffee, wings and flatbread are amazing!!!!!! I would highly recommend to everyone. I really loved the atmosphere too. I even took a moment to play a few games. Lemon pepper and jerk flavored wings, ordered an additional jerk wings to go!

Amazing little spot. We stopped with the fam, played table games, had lunch, and a coffee. The food was great and service was friendly and on point. They have a super small brew space but a great and friendly atmosphere.

Not even sure where to start! I booked this venue for an event, sight unseen and worked with Toni to coordinate everything up until the event. The service was absolutely amazing. Toni was the friendliest and most considerate person I’ve worked with in this industry.The Brewery itself is such a great space! The bar area to the outside patio and not to mention the upstairs cigar lounge. Hands down, this place deserves 5 stars +++. The design is top notch.I ordered the pizza two days in a row. Both times were amazing. The wings & fries were fantastic too. Did I mention, they also serve coffee drinks in addition the full bar?!?!Hands down, I love this place and also want to note the staff are exceptionally friendly as well. Please check this place out!
