Service was great, friendly and inviting. Conversation with the bartender was a breath of fresh air. Kitchen staff gave a good recommendation, Loved the atmosphere. All the trinkets add a personal touch and give character to the establishment. However the recommended Rueben sandwich would have been perfect with the stuffed ingredients in rye. By the time I got to the second half of my sandwich, it had soaked up so much juice, it was rendered useless in the overall flavor profile and would have fell apart if it weren’t for my persistence in making sure I got it down. Given the time frame I was working with, I wasn’t going to ask for it to be redone; also not my style. With all things considered, this experience had the potential to be perfect if it weren’t for the neglected underside of this sandwich. As a sandwich artist, a precautionary napkin or some sort of padding to protect the inevitability vulnerable underside would have definitely been used if it were my creation.

Great sandwiches! Stiff pours! The Reuben and the Club are stuffed full of goodness. Great little dive bar in the middle of downtown Hampton.
Usually would have pictures to post but the company I was with and the atmosphere of Goody's was too good to interrupt. Our server Courtney was attentive and pleasant. Great portion sizes for the reuben and beef and cheese sandwiches. Good laid back place to chill. Fully enjoyed myself

I was at an all- day event down the street, decided to walk over to Goody’s for lunch. Place is a total dive bar, which I love. Not very crowded at all, easy to get a spot at the bar for a to-go order. Quick service with the menu. I ended up getting the hot pastrami, as well as the Texan for a friend. Served with come slaw and a bag of chips, the price was $13.95. I wasn’t expecting much, honestly.
But wow, that was a fantastic sandwich, one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, piled way high with pastrami and melted Swiss. Incredible sandwich, incredible value.
The Texan looked insanely good as well. My colleague loved it!

Me and my husband had the worst experience here. We were the only black people to walk in, everyone looked at us in disgust including the female bartender. She was extremely rude and didn’t want to take our order. We felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome that we left immediately and didn’t even order. Will never come back and definitely will tell everyone we know about this experience.
