Beautiful hidden part of hampton. It is a little hike to the beach but it's worth it.

This is a beautiful nature preserve! You can find plenty of wildlife to watch or photograph, including a variety of birds and crabs. The scenery is also beautifulThe beach is less than half a mile walk, but enough where it stays quiet. Even on a busy weekend, there are not many people around. Parking is harder to come by, because there is no parking lot. Instead, you'll have to park on the street.

It was a nice area. You have to park on the street in a kind of residential area which was a little odd to me. The walk to the beach was decent but not too long. We went during the week and there was not a lot of people there. My only complaint were the amount of washed up jellyfish and biting flys. The biting flys made us cut our beach walk short.

So, I wasn't going to write a review about this place because I didn't want word to get out and have this secluded section of the beach become overrun with beachgoers. Well, Hampton.gov just mentioned it, so word is out. This beach is so nice and secluded. There's no mass parking lot. You need to get there early to park in the residential area. Then, it's a bit of a hike through the preserve to get to the beach. It's totally worth the hike and hauling your sun tent and gear. The water is warmer here (Chesapeake) than the nearby Atlantic Ocean in Virginia Beach. There's a long coastline for walking, and you might meet a crab or two looking to find their way back into the bay. I helped one little guy with a twig stuck to him. I like this beach better than Fort Monroe now that the teenage crew have discover it. There were only a dozen or less families here when we went. I hope it stays that way.

Nice short trail through a marsh and on to a lovely beach. Plenty of open space on an immaculate beach ⛱️ ?

Amazing, about a mile trail to walk which is fun before you hit the beach and then when you get to the beach it's huge! The only downside is there is always these little stumps everywhere. Even in the water! Just be careful.

Grandview is a beautiful pristine nature reserve that feeds the soul along with the other senses. There are a couple of miles of sandy beach, lighthouse ruins, shore birds and the occasional dolphin to enjoy. It reminds me of the Outer Banks of NC without the long drive. But be prepared to walk and there are no restrooms. Still a great way to spend the afternoon.

Nice beach, but not much in the form of hiking trails. So many invasive plant species that need to be fixed!Wish there were more live oaks, and you could access the ones that are there.

Quiet beach. About 10 minutes walk through the marsh. Nice fine sand. I totally love it and will go back. Parking might be challenging during busy times.

This nature preserves hides the best Private beach in Hampton. If you walk the trail for about 9 mins you come upon grandview beach. The beach is very quite, not too many people. You can find a spot on the beach without crowds of people all over. Anyway back to the preserve since this review is supposed to be about the preserve. The preserve itself is nice but very buggy so be careful. You will get attacked by mosquitoes and things that bite. In the sand there's sharp rocks and glass so wear protective shoes not sandals. Change into your sandals when you get to the beach at the end. After walking thru the trail to the beach I discovered a tick crawling up my pants so be mindful of that as well. Parking is hard to come by since it is technically in a private residential area, just be patient and diligent you will find something. If you come early like 10am 11ish, there will be plenty of parking.

Great beach. Very well kept secret. Only issues are the walk from parking to the beach. This is ok for most but someone with a disability may have trouble. It is just over a quarter mile I guess. The second is very limited parking. Maybe about 30 vehicles. However, with the access and parking challenges it is never crowded and that means plenty of room for everyone. Also the beach faces mostly east so bring plenty of sunscreen on this sunny days. Great family beach. And full of friendly people.

Great except we went when high tide was coming in check tides schedules low tide is better and plan for a bit of a walk to the beach. Bring Mosquito repellent especially at dusk. Enjoy and be happy
