I drove from Charlotte NC to eat here and the beignets was awful. I ask the server if they had fruit filled and she said yes. Once it came to the table, it was cream cheese filling and not hot. We were the only ones there, due to the chef not being there. There was no reason why it wasn’t hot. I spoke with Avery, operational manger, and she would not take it off the bill. Very bad service. I also ask her if she would charge half price and she still wouldn’t do it. This is why our people business don’t last, because of bad customer service 👎

This restaurant has the worst customer service, food quality is 0/10 no flavor and undercooked!!!

Lookie here...🤤those bignets?! Sheesh! The food and the drinks were so good! The only complaints is that we were seated in a spot that wasnt great bc of foot traffic and the servers forgot about us for a little bit. But other than that the experience was amazing. Thirst quenched and hunger satisfied! I hope to go back a few more times before they close the doors for good. 😔

I was excited to visit this place. Honestly, I should’ve chosen other restaurant around the corner. The hostess doesn’t know what the word “hospitality” means. You’re the first impression, you’re the first person the guests meet in the restaurant. He walked sloooowly, looked at us from the top to toes, it looked ridiculous. It was so obvious! I felt like I owe him something but didn’t know what:) That’s not a class, it’s a joke. Anyways. The waiter was trying to be professional, I appreciate that. But little advice from the person who worked at the Food and Beverage, Hospitality field most of her life - when the guest is ready to pay, you should give them the bill to see, not just tell them the amount. Mistakes happen, and as a guest I have the right to see my bill. But it’s just an advice. I don’t feel like coming back. I left this place confused why the attitude was so weird. The food is okay. One dish was a little overspiced

Had these reservations for over a month for a party of ten. I did not feel they were prepared for a welcome or accommodation. Downstairs, all tables are square or rectangular shape. I saw parties of 6 or more sat comfortably. Our seating was upstairs. Enjoyed the quiet setting but not the unwelcoming tone from our server. Assuming she dreaded having to walk flights of stairs to bring us our food. Four round tables pushed together…not sure how anyone can eat like that. Guests had to use menus to eat on. Definitely a “been there and done that” spot. For what I got, there are some mom and pops diner that serve the same thing for a lesser price. If you say we paid for the experience…you can have that. The mango purée (jam) is what saved that one star.

Listen, all I can say is I absolutely LOVE this place! Sad about the reduction in hours. They can get busy but the wait is worth the wait.

Found ourselves down in Phoebus and decided to grab some brunch at Mango Mangeaux. We were greeted cheerily and the staff was very sweet, restaurant was pretty full on a Sunday afternoon. Overall we had a positive experience, however there were a few issues.

We ordered some beignets and the croissant basket to start, and got the beignets promptly. They were hot/fresh, filling was good. They seemed to maybe be a bit doughy, but I thought I was imagining things and shrugged it off. Then, the croissant basket came. The basket has 3 croissants, which are on the small side, but that wasn't the issue. The main problem is that the croissants were completely flat and the dough inside was almost entirely raw. A small layer of dough on the outside was able to be eaten, but the rest was raw. We left an entire croissant in the basket due to this. Full disclosure, I was at a bigger table and didn't want to embarrass anyone or make a scene, so this wasn't reported to the staff. The croissants also came with very little of the heavily advertised mango puree (honestly maybe 2 teaspoons), which was all right since we couldn't use it on them anyway, unfortunately.

The Chesapeake benedict was tasty, the fried green tomato was really nice, however the biscuit was similarly a bit underdone, and for $25 I thought there would be a bit more crab meat honestly. But I understand that margins are tight.

Lastly, after the food was dropped off, we realized that two of the dishes which had french toast were not served with maple syrup. No one came back to check on how the food was for a while, so we had to go track down the syrup, nbd. When the (apologetic and very nice) server delivered the syrup, they also brought over the sides of fruit that were supposed to be served along with our other dishes, which we totally forgot about by this time.

It was, all in all, a bit of a messy dining experience, made up for somewhat by the hospitality of the staff.

Don't get me wrong the food was amazing... so my hat goes off to the chef! Then the manager guy was very nice while greeting us in a host way (no actual host), while he was very nice to the customers.. we then watched him speak down to his 1 and only server!!! The place was packed too! Why was there only 1 server?

Everyone at my table watched him repeatedly stop her to criticize her in her ear, while she was actively bringing out food. Though I did not hear everything he said (I heard some)... From her face during and after... We could all tell he was quietly sharing his displeasure with her efforts. Not cool!

She was really trying to do her best! He made thing awkward, especially after seeing the waitress steal her nerve and hold back tears and then still push out a kind smile to all.

Not worth the money to watch a very tall big man, who's job is to greet and be kind to guests, lean over the shorter waitress to assert his authoritity...to again his 1 and only server. She also was taking large orders, including large drink orders and serving everyone alone but with a smile. Lift people up, especially when they are given clearly too much for any 1 person

Came in by myself for brunch and felt totally at home. The hostess seated me right away and my server was friendly and quick. I had the shrimp and grits and it was absolutely perfect

Everything came out looking like it belonged in a magazine. The plating was clean, colorful, and creative — and it tasted as good as it looked. You can tell they care about the details.
