McAlister's Deli Reviews
Wow. This place gets 5 YUMS from us!
Looks like we missed National Sandwich Day, but we finally got the chance to try out McAlister’s and it did not disappoint!
It did take a little while to decide what to get because their menu is so (beautifully) varied! I ended up getting the 1/2 salad (Pecanberry) and 1/2 sandwich (Harvest Chicken Salad). The price was very good, especially as I was so surprised at the portion given of both!

Great food, thankful that we finally got one here in Hampton.
We were there at a busy time (lunch). Ordered from the table, which was slower than if we would have stood in line. One meal was brought out, but we had to ask for the second one and then ask for our drinks. My soup was cool, as if it had been sitting. McAlister's Deli serves good food and offers huge teas that evoke a southern feel. The staff is friendly, but some customers find the menu overwhelming, especially if they are unfamiliar with it. The King club sandwich is a standout, and while the Roasted turkey, avocado, spinach, tomato, Swiss with olive oil & balsamic vinaigrette on 9-Grain bread was tasty, some felt it was poorly assembled, and the portion size was smaller than expected for the price. The potato salad is exceptional, but customers have also noted issues with hidden costs, particularly with side dishes that were not included with the sandwiches as assumed.
The dining area could be cleaner, and some staff members may not engage enough with customers to help them navigate the menu. While the food is generally good, there are concerns about the quality of some ingredients, such as stale items. Overall, McAlister's Deli remains a place where customers can enjoy a meal, but improvements in service and menu clarity could enhance the dining experience.
