Order the large oxtail for take out and they sent chicken. The price difference is insane. 0/10 would not recommend. Would post a picture but there isn't an option. I wonder why?

I went in for their beef patties recently and the glass they keep them in was so dingy and disgusting 𤢠I literally walked right back out.. honestly the whole restaurant is just nasty and uninviting and the food also matches it. I donāt know who is running this restaurant but Iād be surprised if they were Caribbean people at all with the uncleanliness of the restaurant and the unfriendliness of the staff as a whole. I drive 30 minutes to Newport News when I want some good Caribbean/Jamaican foodā¦I just wanted to give this place a chance again since my first experience 6 years ago was bad too⦠I figured āwho could mess up a beef patty?ā I was wrong again⦠this place needs new management for real⦠next time I go in there Iām a take a picture of his dirty the beef patty case was an post it hereā¦

I use to think this place had the best caribbean food in the Hampton Roads. Injust left from there very upset. First off, the food wasn't in the warmer display like it usually is. It was off to the side cold as hell. The chicken was dry as hell stringy like it was put in the microwave, and the cornbread was like eating sand. The only thing that was good was the mac n cheese and that was even old too. I spent $30 for nothing. Couldn't even eat all of it, was not worth the calories.

Mediocre food, tasted old a bit the oxtail rolls were good. The rice was decent. However, I did go here late afternoon on a weekday, so the food was probably what they didn't sell earlier; I should have gone around lunchtime ...
Service was kinda obtuse and acted like they didn't want to serve the customers

Almost inedible. I only gave 2 stars because the cabbage wasnāt bad and the oxtails were tender, but everything else was awful. The oxtails were incredibly sweet. The cornbread had a weird taste to it that I couldnāt pinpoint or finish. The mac and cheese had a gritty taste, but had the same sweetness as the oxtails. I wasnāt able to finish my food unfortunately.

I called palm tree and whoever answered did not know I was on the phone and they were talking terrible about their customers. I tried to call again and no answer.
I placed 2 orders for an uber delivery. The order was wrong. I followed uber instructions and called the driver. No answer. Left voice mail and no return call.

As a New Yorker born and raised; friends and neighbors of Caribbean descent - Iāve eaten my share of food from the Islands. This has got to be the worst Jamaican food Iāve ever eaten. Never in my life have ever been served curry goat that did not have a deep green sauce; orange curry sauce - you gotta be kidding me. On top of this the food was bland and I saw no Jamaican allspice anywhere in the mix.
In fact, none on the Jamaican restaurants in Hampton meet the mark.MP island in Norfolk is the closest to authentic down here.
Ten thumbs down. My second and last time ordering from any of these restaurants.

Never seen mac n cheese with absolutely no cheese. Just heavily seasoned macaroni noodles. Might as well have put raisins in it if you're gonna mess it up.
Terrible customer service!!!!!
Call to place an order on 5/22/25 @ 7pm mind you they don't close until 8pm. The phone rang 10+ times and a young man finally answered and said we not taking anymore phone orders, NO hello or anything. So I said oh yea and he said yea good bye and hung up, Very rude and poor customer service. I use to order food 2-3 times a week over 1 1/2 ago but stopped because of the customer service, quality of food not being consistent and high prices. Before calling I tried ordering online however it only gives you the option for DoorDash, Gub-Hub etc not too order for pickup. I'll drive to the south side for some good Jamaican food and good customer service. Bring the nice young ladies they use to have working there.
