I cannot say enough good things about this place!!! Quick service and the sushi was exquisite! This was my first time trying nigiri and was not disappointed! I don’t think I’ve ever had sushi this good! I wish I could take this place back to NC with me!

I absolutely love this small restaurant. It is the quintessential "hole-in-the-wall special find". It is small (max seating maybe 26) but the quality of food and service is second to none. Every dish, that I have had, has been exceptional; the food is fresh and prepared when you order it (not ahead of time and kept warm under a light). They have great sushi and hibachi meals, as well as many other Japanese favorites. Do yourself a favor - find this small restaurant and have the best Japanese meal you can get in Tidewater.
I don't eat at Japanese / Chinese / Asian culture restaurants often but, when i do it's never shelled ? fish...I'm allergic to ( ? crab, lobster, scallops etc. ) but, I had the ? Chicken Hibachi...MY Future Wife had the beef...Food is good but, it would of been nice to ? see exotic decor and a cleaner upscale men's room... ??

The food was good. Tried sushi for the first time. It's not my thing, but it wasn't bad. There are a lot of items on the menu. The staff is great and the restaurant is quiet. I will eat there again.

Been coming here for YEARS. like at least 10. never have had a bad experience. go to place for sushi. all these years and they’ve never given me anything then the amazing food i expect from them. thank you soya
My family has been going to Soya for at least 20 years. It is always delicious! It gets my grandmother's approval and she is from Japan.

Awesome sushi! Absolutely the best.
They have such fresh options, excellent sashimi and the best rolls in the area. The staff is so friendly and know my order now just by walking in. I've had numerous rolls, sashimi, soups and salads. They are fantastic! I could eat there 4 days/week. I've been to every other sushi establishment in the area and none comes close to Soya.
