The Baker's Wife Bistro & Bar

Everything was barely cooked. My grits were not fully cooked and chewy in my crab and grits. My lamb was basically raw and my wife asked for a lamb burger cooked well with no pink and they kept sending it back pink. The first time blood was actually running out of it. I expected more quality for the amount I paid. My surprise Mothers Day dinner for my wife was not a good one.

The waiter was very kind & friendly. I like sweet wines such as Moscato but nothing came close to it, so opted for a lemonade with a shot. Very tasty. I only had an appetizer, salad. I had a sample of the lamb slider, delicious! If you like fine cuisine, this is the spot! Very quaint

Husband and I came in for brunch. The food was absolutely amazing but the staff made the entire experience over the top. Thanks Zach for the beautiful cocktails and friendly conversation.

Zach was the best server with great opinions on the food and led us in the right direction. The food was exceptional, great flavors and a nice warm atmosphere. 10/10 would post pictures but ate it all too quickly.

So I cannot lie, food is great, atmosphere is great but it is a little like the episode of Seinfeld “no soup for you”. Do not ask for anything but what they have the way it is served on the menu. Won’t happen, chef makes sure of it!

Birthday party for my wife, the food was good we had different things from the menu, everyone had a good time. Service was good. Kinda tight but cozy.

Went there during brunch. We were greeted with a warm welcome and a cheerful banter between the staff. The place had a couple playing and singing music, which was nice. I had a water while the wife had an old fashion and a seersucker. She stated the old fashion would have been better with Woodford, but the seersucker was nice. For the appetizer, we had the cured plate. It had duck, salmon, and beef for the meats. Pair with a cheese little pickles and fresh ground mustard. I felt like the duck was over salted but still good. The salmon and beef were great, especially when paired with mustard or cheese. For the main, I had the crab omelet, and the wife had the lamb burger. The biggest complaint was that my dish came out cold and under seasoned. But you could taste the freshness in the egg. They also didn't skimp on the crab meat. They had plenty of lump meat throughout. With the grand total being 130 with tip. Overall, I'll have to give it a 6.5 out of ten. I'll be back to give dinner a try

We had not visited The Baker’s Wife in awhile , but our experience last week was excellent! Everett took good care of us and our food selections were delicious! Anxious to return!

We live in Hampton and we’re so excited when this restaurant opened and we’ve been frequenting this restaurant since it’s opening. However, we seem to always have a battle with what the chef and what he wants to serve us as opposed to what we want. We like our beef and our lamb, medium well, and the chef refuses to give us what we want… so tonight we ordered lamb burgers we had to bring them home and finish cooking them because the chef insisted on serving us what he wants us to eat. So, we will probably not be coming back after three years of patronizing this restaurant … we give up.

Great service, kind staff, AMAZING food!!! The prices are high, so we typically come for special occasions like my birthday last night. Every person who came to the table wished me happy birthday and made me feel super special. The mussels appetizer is one of my favorite foods I've personally ever had! It should come with a spoon for the yummy sauce! The Thursday Burger deal is a great price for people who can't typically spend a large amount on one dinner so we were very happy to see that offered, and of course we tried and it was fantastic! I regularly recommend this place for special occasions to my friends and family. We will be returning soon! Thank you again!
