This neapolitan oriented Wood fired pizza experience was a superb find. My wife and I had a locally sourced green salad, dressing outstanding. We then had three different pizzas, including arugula, sausage, and a sopresetta which we took for the road. These are individually sized pies. The crust was perfect and the toppings complimentary. Good selection of beers and potent potables poured and mixed by a skilled mixologist. Parking in an overhead lot right across the street. This place rocks and there is a Gelato shop right down the street that is killer, owned by the same people.

The menu and atmosphere looked great - but food and menu choices were just okay. Small menu. Pizzas are very small; don’t come hungry! Pizza was tasty and fresh, but not very crisp at all - definitely on the soggy side. Side order appetizers were okay. More of a place to come with friends and have a few drinks and some food rather than a place to only get food. Patrons having fun so recommended for that.

Delicious pizza! Many creative variations. And the gluten free crust is one of the best we have had. Fun being able to see the wood fired ovens and the atmosphere & vibe is both chill and a little more upscale than the average pizza place.

drinks are really steep, but the pizza and service knock it out of the park. when it comes to the entrees, you get what you pay for: quality.

This pizza was absolutely amazing. SO delicious. The crust was crisp and the sauce was so fresh and flavorful I also really enjoyed the sangria and watching the pizzas getting made in the wood fire grill!

We had lunch here in September 2025. Good service and quality. We have 2 pizzas and 2 drinks for $50, tip included

Bella Luna is a solid place for dinner and drinks. Their wine list and drink menu is pretty broad, although I didn’t partake in that. The food, on the other hand, I did partake in and it was quite delicious. The restaurant is big on organic and handmade and you can taste the difference. The dough is solid, the ingredients are fresh. I got the Brooklyn with soppressata and tiramisu for dessert. I do recommend this spot to anyone in Harrisonburg either at JMU, in the area, or passing through!

Always amazing no matter how long the wait is! Their staff is always professional and knowledgeable of menu items. The food is always incredible! Our favorite pizza has to be the ring of fire, but we have enjoyed all of them!

Great Pizza, Disappointing Policy (thus 3 stars)
We visited Bella Luna Pizza while in town at JMU to celebrate our daughter’s birthday and treat her and her friends to dinner. The food was excellent — each of us ordered our own pizzas, and mine (the special with squash and white sauce) was absolutely fabulous. Fresh ingredients, great flavor, and a cozy atmosphere made for a promising start to the evening.

However, one policy left a sour note. We brought individually packaged mini Bundt cakes for dessert — one of our daughters has allergies. When we asked for extra place settings, we were told there would be a plating fee. I clarified that we didn’t need plating, just forks, but upon arrival, our server was still instructed to charge a $2 per person fee.

It’s not about the $12 — we ordered appetizers, drinks, and entrées, and supported the restaurant fully. It’s the principle. Charging a fee for simply using a fork for a pre-packaged allergy-safe dessert feels unnecessarily rigid and unwelcoming, especially for a celebratory occasion.

Bella Luna’s pizza is great, but this experience makes us question whether we’d return for future gatherings.

The atmosphere as you walk in is very rustic. The restaurant is in an old live in historic downtown. The staff are all friendly and the Woodfire pizza is great. We tried the Brooklyn, the margarita, and the Bella Bianca. If you love mushrooms, we highly recommend the Bella Biancawill definitely come again.

I used to enjoy Bella Luna. But after today's visit, I may never go back. The mistakes and the lousy service today can be fixed, but the owner somehow needs to be aware of the. Maggie, at the hostess stand, couldn't have been more distant when I asked for a high-top: she agreed, but was insistent that I sit at Table One. Fine, but where the hell was it. Then, after five minutes, some guy named Cedric came by and asked, "What do you want?" I tried to correct his sullen greeting with a "this is what I would like to have, please." He didn't know what a Montepulciano was. First, Maggie might appear, then Cedric. Maggie brought the check, as I remember, but who was I to tip? These two employees seemed as if they were just "dialing in" to work today. The manager disappeared after three minutes after I spotted him. This kind of indifference suggests that the current management is clueless and it communicated that I was treated like a second-class citizen. I'm actually a tenured professor in an MBA program. This place might want to temp me with a comped meal, and I might consider it if this place mends its ways.

Delicious pizza! Service was amazing and friendly. Each pizza was great for one person. Fabulous vibe and a good wine list. Highly recommend for a laid back night out.

Best pizza I have had in a long time. Wife and adult kids each got their own but ended up sharing. We voted on which was the best. The prosciutto arugula was voted favorite, but I really enjoyed the meatball. Great atmosphere. Will definitely go back if in the area. Mike and family from CT!
