I had the best Indonesian cuisine I ever had at Boboko Indonesian Cafe in Harrisonburg, Virginia. It’s a small 6 table Indonesian restaurant right in the heart of the Harrisonburg historic district. There is a very convenient large municipal parking lot right across the street and the restaurant is ramp accessible for people with walkers or in wheel chairs. Great Indonesian restaurant! I got the fried noodles with chicken, and the sambal sauce. I really enjoyed the flavor! My husband got the beef rendang. I thought it was very very tender, but was lacking some flavor. We also got the chicken satay and the fusion spring rolls and they were good. The vegan coffee was so delicious!! Our server was really friendly and helpful. Really appreciate that they have a good selection of vegan options!!!
Vegan Indonesian food is my absolute favorite. This place was adequate at best. The tempeh was not adequately steamed, seasoned or prepared. The curry sauce was bland. I’d say if there were no other vegan options in town, go for it. Otherwise, I’d keep looking.
