I love everything about La Morena & eat here regularly. My go to dishes are either the burrito supreme or an array of tacos, sopes, gorditas, and pupusas. I’ve never had a bad dish from here. Since the pandemic I’ve been doing a lot of take out from La Morena and it’s always easy, but I also love to eat there from time-to-time. Their salsa bar is top notch, the food is awesome, and the service is great. 10/10 definitely the spot I most recommend to folks who are visiting or new to Harrisonburg
I gave this place another chance hoping they've brought the quality up but no pupusas was extremely greasy and flavorless. The masa which is the outside of the pupsas was chewy and the inside was barely any filling, flavorless meat and I dont think there was any cheese inside it seems like only a little bit of pork. I usually go across town beside Ollie's but I didn't want to make the trip and I paid the price. Waste of money. Nasty food. I have photos but I see an option

I had the best nachos ever today for lunch! I got the steak nachos and could barely eat half, so I have lunch for tomorrow, too!
I promise the negative reviews you see here are from white people who are used to getting Mexican food from Taco Bell or some other chain restaurant. If you want authentic Pupusas like you get in Salvador, then come here. If you want to eat Mexican food...that Mexicans eat and enjoy...then come here. This is not gringo style...this is real. The salsa bar is amazing. I just wish the cups were bigger for it. This place is all that is great about Latin American food on one big menu. Live life and enjoy the drinks too like the Jarritos or the juices.

(Still) LOVE this place! Today was special; they had tamales!! Authentic (chicken verde) and absolutely delicious. Chip/salsa bar was on point as ever and my tacos were wonderful. Great selection of fresh juices and plenty of options on the menu. Clean, easy, quick.Kid-friendliness: Well-behaved children are treated like gold, here. Friendly and accommodating to my children from jump. (Nice opportunity to sample different flavors!)Parking: Lot is usually free; during prime hours there are other close options.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of veggie options here. They’ve always been accommodating to any dietary concerns when I’ve dined here with others. Huge plus!
