Local Chop & Grill House Reviews
My husband and I dined here on September 14, 2022. We requested a table on the first floor to avoid the stairs. We were seated just off the reception desk. The area had 4 tables and 2 of the tables had diners. One man was dining alone and the other table had 4 diners. We waited 45 minutes for our food. The waiter offhandedly asked if we wanted bread. We said yes. The bread was poorly presented-sloppily torn up (?)focaccia . The food was good, generous portions. I had the grilled salmon with green beans and my husband had the beef stroganoff. Parking is poor. Need to park across the street in a government lot. Restaurant is on the cool side and noisy, dark. As we left, the waiter asked if it was too loud in there. I told him yes and he said he could have turned down the music. Too bad he didn’t ask sooner.

The Local Chop & Grill House provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for diners. The hostess greets guests promptly, and the knowledgeable servers offer great recommendations on the menu, which includes cocktails, wines, and sides. The restaurant is known for its freshly baked focaccia bread and pork belly bites, both highly recommended by customers. Popular dishes include U10 scallops and rib eye, which are cooked evenly with a nice sear. The menu also features a variety of desserts such as creme brûlée and chocolate peppermint bark, along with unique sides like perfect asparagus. The peach ketchup adds a special touch to the offerings. The restored warehouse setting gives the restaurant a warm, relaxed character, making it an ideal place for those seeking fresh, high-end food at reasonable prices. Service is attentive without being pushy, and the environment remains comfortable and quiet.
Guests have enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and friendly service, noting the food as amazing. The filet mignon is often praised as the best ever, and sides like mac and cheese and mashed potatoes are described as heavenly. The tuna appetizer is also appreciated for its delicious taste. The rib eye steak is very good, though some mention it can be a little too fatty. The pork chop has received mixed reviews, with some finding it stringy and lacking taste; however, the restaurant has handled such issues well by offering a replacement dish that many find better than the original. The bar atmosphere is inviting, and the Cool as a Cuke cocktail is highly recommended.
Recent reviews highlight the great meal and steaks, though some note that drink pours are a bit light, with martini glasses being quite large. Service has been described as unusually slow at times, with some customers experiencing mixups with drinks, but overall, visitors report a great evening with star-quality food. One guest visiting from out of town celebrated a birthday at the restaurant and appreciated the good food and great service, though they wished desserts were automatically served as a surprise when celebrating.
