Opening a business is expensive. I will never understand going through all that time, money and worry only to employee the worst people you can find. Your employees are the biggest impression on a new customer, they should be welcoming, pleasant and attentive. This is my first and last visit. The food and drink are average at best, yet overpriced.

Cute cafe. Good vibe. Staff is kind and polite. They served tasty drinks though a bit pricey for the area. Some of the pastry is good... I'm just not a fan of items in coolers so I usually just stick to my cortado.
When the weather is nice, sit outside.

I’ve now gone twice to this coffee shop. Both times my latte was very disappointing. The first time it was lukewarm even after I asked for it to be heated up. This week I tried it again and paid $8.80 for a 12 oz latte which i found pretty expensive. I asked and was told the mugs are 1 shot of espresso for lattes, and the to go cups are 2 shots. I’m not sure why the difference but I felt like for that price it should contain more espresso. The cinnamon crunch latte lacked flavor and was nothing special. For the price, I expected a better latte. Both times have been disappointing.
My husband and I stumbled on this coffee shop on Friday and were not disappointed. The shop itself is beautifully decorated and inviting. The aesthetic makes you feel like you’re in the 50’s, 60’s, or 70’s in Europe. Our barista, Sam, was a pleasure to interact with and answered all of our questions about their offerings. We tried their cinnamon latté, drip coffee, and a thousand miles pastry which were all phenomenal. The latté art (a teddy bear) in my drink was very cute and detailed. What I loved about the cinnamon latté was the caramel and nuts on the outside of the cup that created a unique tasting experience for me as a customer. The espresso itself was very light and didn’t upset my head or stomach, which was a welcome change from my previous coffee drinking experiences. As we wrapped up, we chatted with Sam again, who was nothing short of kind, friendly, and warm. We will definitely be coming back to try more drinks and some of their sandwiches. There’s plenty to choose from as far as their menu goes. The hard part is just picking one thing to eat. 🥲 So glad we found this hidden gem. It’s not a matter of if we will be back, but when!

Super cute cafe! The portions of the drinks are good, and it has a lovely atmosphere. The servers were great.
It is a small shop though, so be aware you may not be able to get a seat if it's super busy!
I wasn't the biggest fan of the banana bread but it was still tasty.
Definitely plan on coming back!

The latte was delicious but the espresso was lacking flavor. Slightly more bitter for my usual taste. The atmosphere was very cozy. Plenty of parking

Cute coffee shop! They do serve alcohol but plenty of coffee drinks. They also have ice cream. Be try clean and the bathroom too. Plenty of seating for one person or a small group. There’s even some tables outside.

Great coffee shop with good service and menu selection. We were excited to see different brew options (pour over, Japanese syphon, chemex) as well.

Big fan, wish I had found 1971 sooner! This coffee shop has a very relaxed yet somehow sophisticated vibe to it. I enjoyed the laid back music, the long layout, and the variety of seating - among the many tables are a comfy couch and armchairs, and a longer table tucked away in the corner that is perfect for studying or working. They also have a couple small tables outside.
There are many great sounding food and drink options - it's tough to go wrong! I tried the pan de bono (and took several home), almond cake, and an iced pistachio latte. Everything was outstanding and beautiful to boot. Service was so nice. Free parking, free wifi, clean bathroom.
I highly recommend a visit if you find yourself in Haymarket, or are looking for a great coffee shop to work or study from!
