The menu changed just a couple of weeks ago and we had the mussels entree as an appetizer and it was fantastic and I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and my wife had the Avocado, Fried Green Tomato and Bacon and Lettuce sandwich and they were both terrific. Our server Hailey was very good and attentive. Only issue we have with Old Dominion Tavern is that it is very noisey. We sat at a high top in the bar area and we had trouble hearing each other talk. They should probably try turning down the music some so maybe the patrons don't have to talk so loud. Other than that the food and service were excellent.

Salmon, Rockfish, and the short rib and grilled cheese were fabulous. The broccoli that came with the salmon was one of the most flavorful broccoli I've had. Great food, great service, and a wonderful place all around. I always love their popcorn too!!

The server was very nice but our drinks took forever. It was very loud as well. Food took a while as well. My chicken was totally overcooked and chewy. My husbands pasta had nothing but butter for flavoring. I would not recommend this place.

The food was fantastic. I'm a picky eater and not likely to choose anything eclectic which is what they offer and it was great. Fried goat cheese with a honey/jalapeño sauce? The best ever! The filet was cooked perfectly. The service was great. Our table was next to window that was right on sidewalk and left us exposed to headlights and passer-bys. Some blinds or curtains would have been nice.

Gave this place a second chance after my initial try after they first opened didn't go so well. My wife talked me into a second try, so I agreed for one more attempt. I was not disappointed. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich is legit and has good flavor and more heat than most places, and was worth the trip alone. I will be back.

This place is always on point with the food. This is my third visit so I decided I had to post. The seafood pasta and the steak are both excellent choices. Their burger is delicious as well. The venison meatball appetizer is ordered everything I go, the gravy is so delicious. Great local spot, blows the old Lion and Bull food that used to be there out of the water! Definitely recommend for dinner or lunch, great bartenders too!

Saw the reviews and food pics here on yelp and decided to give it a go. We came in on a Friday evening and the hostess asked if we had reservations (we didn't) but we were still seated quickly near the bar. Of course it was pretty loud for a while but it seemed to settle down after a bit which I was thankful for. We tried to crab & corn dip, it was really good but I was wishing for something like a crusty bread to go with it. I had the short rib grilled cheese & it was good. Our overall impression though - I really wanted to love it but all in all it wasn't amazing.

Stumbled upon this spot as a happy accident and enjoyed a wonderful dinner! We both had salmon salad with substitutions and it was really delicious, tasting like the Chef really put care into preparing it. Kind of a hidden gem! Will definitely be back.

As a new resident near this shopping center restaurant I was so surprised how amazing this place is. My best recommendation, that says it all , would simply be I frequent it often. All the items I’ve had on the menu are very good but most of them are outstanding. Additionally most of the servers are quite friendly but service occasionally can be a little slow. That’s a small price to pay for all the great features. Appetizers are creative and amazing. Sandwiches are large and tasty. Entrees might be considered by some as few in number but again plenty of variety especially for a tavern style place. Don’t worry. You’ll find plenty of things to enjoy. Check out the menu yourself. You will be greatly surprised by the variety of items.

Food was good, but service was slow. The restaurant only had about 6 tables filled while we were dining. Waited extended amount of time for warm coffee and hard sugar packets, not sure what our server was doing. Our wait time for our food was also extensive in that our food was then served warm instead of hot. However our meal was good, so we didn't say anything about the temperature. Overall the portions are small, the service is slow, but the food is good.
